I made a mistake with this photo. I went full fan mode, full ego mode. I wanted a photo so badly, that I didn`t respect the artist I so admire! @isaachowlett was taking pictures with fans for a really long time, after an exhausting show, giving his all and when he finally went to take a break I stopped him and asked for jet another pic. And look at him being an absolute pro!
But that was absolutely disrespectful of me because there was a designated corner and time for pics which I ignored and I regretted it so much, that I didn`t post the pic. I since was able to talk to Isaac and ask for his forgiveness, which he gracefully gave, so here it is.
And this might seem like nothing, but I always prided myself with being able to treat "famous people" just like people and by being respectful and calm be able to actually talk to them and not make them switch into "Professional mode" to keep fans at a little more distance. Some artists might like the "hugging and kissing, you are an absolute sex icon" fans, but I once saw Sven Friedrich absolutely flinch and then switch into Pro-mode just to get rid of such a fan asap.
And me not acting like that doesn`t mean that I admire them any less or that I am actually calm about it, I just try to still see the humans that they are. Probably exhausted, sweaty and needing some water. They very possibly also need to pee badly.
So next time you approach an artist: be kind, be respectful, tell them how great they are calmly, let them get away if they need to and don`t put your needs aboth theirs. They don`t owe you anything. But they sometimes forget that.

This beautifully dark song came from one of the most fruitful collaborations I’ve ever had, with @_blumenstein_ . When I first heard the instrumental, it instantly clicked, and vocal ideas just rushed in.
The words for “Canvas” were written my favourite poet Wesley Freeman-Smith @tinyshrines_ .
Under the name Lov-e-is-rare, Blumi produced the album “Afternoon Tea” with a number vocalists and released it in summer 2021 - just as live music had its comeback.
Later on, he also played all the violin parts on my anam cara album - now played live by @ynol_fficialy .
It’s been too long since “Canvas” has been on stage. But now we got to perform it again, with the full ensemble, and we’re so happy about it.

This has been my first show as Elfyn in my hometown Bamberg. It felt like a full circle - coming back home and performing as the artist who I set out to be when leaving home 15 years ago. Even more so since I was joined by friends and family in the room. Some of them I hadn’t even seen since childhood….Then my parents let us all sleep at theirs and we got a huge breakfast. 🫶

Aidos is a Goddess, and a very complicated one at that. It’s the closest I’ll get to hip hop, tributing all the trouble-making women of music history who encourage us to be ourselves and do it ourselves: Nina Simone, Patti Smith, Björk, Laetitia Sadier…
And finally, taking the Beatles’ debut single ‘Please Please Me’ into the 21st century and on a glitzy fairground ride. I think Sir @paulmccartney would approve of this…
