Hello All,
While we are still experiencing a gas interruption, we are going to open with limited services tomorrow, May 1st. There will be no showers or food service, but we will try to offer as much as we can.
The change in direction may feel abrupt, but it is based on updated information and a reassessment of the situation.
Thank you,
The Back Door Mission Team
Hello Neighbours, Unfortunately, due to a issue with our gas, we are temporarily closed until at least May 6th. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
đż Our hearts are full today.
Thank you to the 30 incredible volunteers who showed up with gloves, grit, and so much love for our neighbourhood. Groundskeeping isnât glamorous work, but watching our community come together made it one of the most beautiful things weâve seen in a long time.
Because of you, the grounds look the best theyâve looked in years â a real point of pride for all of us. And when we finished early, you didnât pack up. You spread out into the neighbourhood and blessed our neighbours with even more cleanâup and care. Thatâs who you are. Thatâs who we are.
We say it often, but today it feels especially true:
We are a village, and we are so grateful you are our people.
Back Door Mission is indebted to you â for your time, your devotion, and your belief in what community can be when we show up for one another. đ

Protein Needed for Our Meals Program
Back Door Mission serves 150 hot, nutritious meals Monday-Friday, and right now weâre facing a shortage of protein for this week's service. To keep meals balanced and highâquality for our community, weâre looking for meat donationsâpork is the most economical option at the moment, but any protein is appreciated.
If youâre able to drop off a donation by tomorrow morning, it would make an immediate difference for the folks who rely on us.
Thank you for always showing up for your neighbours and supporting Back Door Mission. Your generosity keeps people fed, cared for, and connected.

đž A Huge Thank You to The Ontario SPCA & Humane Society!
Weâre sending our heartfelt gratitude to the incredible team from the Ontario SPCA & Humane Society for visiting Back Door Mission and sharing their Pawsitive Packs with our patrons. These kits flew off the table in no time, and even after they ran out, the team stayed to offer guidance, resources, and information on how to access lowâcost and free services for pets in our community.
Their compassion, patience, and commitment made a real difference for the people we serve â and for their beloved animals.
Weâre already looking forward to welcoming them back soon. Partnerships like this strengthen our community and help ensure that everyone, including our fourâlegged family members, gets the support they deserve.
Thank you for all you do! đśđ
