‘Søg & Giv Lys’ (Seek & Give Light) is an exhibition by @lukaskeysell and @oliviabrixx , combining painting, sculpture, and interactive installation art in a meditative and sensory space at Basement Vesterbro. The theme revolves around reconnecting with ancient mysticism and wisdom — a time when humans lived more closely connected to nature, one another, and their inner selves.
Olivia Brix will perform a ritualistic opening ceremony, followed by a live performance of @lukaspberg on ronroco and @elmquist_wood on cajón and dukduk.
Lukas Berg has created the soundscape for the exhibition.

The performance of Mycelium Rituals.
As part of Monument Festival, Mycelium Rituals bridges art, science, and spirituality, inspiring awe for the resilience and interconnectedness of ecosystems. It fosters a deeper appreciation for the symbiotic relationships that define life on Earth, reminding us of the profound connections we share with the natural world.

Deep in the shadows of the gentle night
She sat by the swamp as the soil spoke
In the light of glow-worm fire
A scripted tale written in oak She watched the water crease
As if a secret stirred
A saga from the underground
Where none but the mole had heard
Betula pendula stood tall in the night
She learned the dark was not a Blight —
But velvet — veined with Thread —
By unseen Spinsters spread
She leaned — then bent
And let her Fingers dip
The Swamp became her scent —
An ancient lip — In Fern — and Frog — and Muck — her filaments got stuck
From the swamp — a Chanterelle shyly bloomed -
It was she who told — where Shadows fold
A Trumpet formed of Autumn’s Fire
So delicate it grew with roots of choir
A Crown it grew — of scattered Spores
A Throne it built — by Root and Rain
A Mind that stitched the Living Earth
And wandered thy foot — in Reign
As an elongation of Mycelium Rituals, @oliviabrixx & @thomblane performed a piece together on Haven stage at @mnmt.no Sunday evening.
At the opening of Thom’s set, Olivia played the ocarina - built into her mask - sculpted from clay. It was the opening of a ritual, where fragments of the poem ‘It was she who told’ was handed out on a piece of fabric. A small offering of unity and connection - through movement.
Full poem will be shared in the next post 🙏
By using natural dyes, the fabric doesn’t just decorate the space, it participates in it — carrying the forest’s palette into the installation, reminding us that color is rooted in a living system.
The process of natural dye is explorative and intuitive. It brings forth subtle shades that delicately contrasts when woven together.

Looking at it, you find a warped reflection of yourself and your surroundings. Reminding us that we are connected in unusual ways and things below the surface are not always what they seem.

Natural pigmentation on cotton fabric.
The curtains in Mycelium Rituals installation are dyed with pigments gathered directly from the forest floor — bark, leaves, soil, fungi. They act like membranes between inside and outside, filtering light through the same chemistry that shapes the woods. If you get close enough, you can smell the ingredients from the pigmentation process.

To initiate communication with fungi, guests at @mnmt.no were invited to put on the headphones and softly touch the living mycelium and moss placed in the centre of the pavilion. Human touch activates sounds recorded on a synthesiser, where the current has been modulated through living mycelium and various mushrooms.
Mycelium Rituals offers a meditative oasis where visitors can pause, breathe, and engage in a symbolic dialogue with the unseen world below — a ritual of unity with nature’s interconnected web of life.

Mycelium from @fungafarm
Mycelium Rituals invites you to explore an inter-species communication with the hidden world beneath your feet — the intricate network of mycelium. Serving as both a sanctuary and ritual space, the installation encourages moments of introspection, relaxation, and connection with the underground life that sustains our planet.
A hanging sculpture, reminiscent of a mushroom, pulses with light — a visualisation of how mycelium connects trees, plants, and ecosystems in a harmonious exchange of nutrients and information.

Mycelium Rituals is a newly developed interactive installation designed for @mnmt.no
We have previously worked with mycelium and fungi, and we have yet again returned to it, to share its voice and explore new ways of connecting humans to the natural world that surrounds us 🌿
By offering a tactile interaction with living mycelium, we aim to spread the beauty and power of fungi 🍄
Thank you so much Monument Festival for inviting us to the beautiful surroundings of Veggli, Norway to build this installation for the people of the festival.

Layers of translumic fabric give the pure and piercing light from a laser a holographic depth and dimensionality to light.
The laser shines through a glass sculpture with organic form, adding refractions in all unplanned and beautiful directions.
Thanks to our team for the help building this piece.
