La Pucelle Coinciding with ‘Beeting Heart,’ ‘La Pucelle’ is another exploration deeply rooted in the spirit of Joan of Arc, infused with the shades of Renaissance art. The essence of "La Pucelle" is a powerful blend of historical homage and a bold assertion of visibility. Joan of Arc's indomitable spirit resonates across time, and I've worked to channel that spirit to empower people of color. The result is a series that not only pays homage to a legendary figure but also shines a light on those who have been underrepresented in the art world for far too long. My work celebrates diversity, a symphony of hues, and an invitation to reframe perspectives. • • • @byayanag / @ayanamplified ( shot + creative direction ) model: @jeincypaniagua styling: @azmareec | @stush_llc mua: @jeincypaniagua hair stylist: @dahveyaun set: @ayanamplified | @aamp.d balaclava headchain: @rivmccall

Sting Like A Bee A photo series paying homage to vintage boxers from the 1800s, while offering a powerful cultural commentary on black brotherhood. Through captivating visuals, it explores the strength and fragility of brotherly connections within black cultures as they navigate through a broader spectrum of emotions and experiences. Departing from stereotypes, each photograph captures a moment of raw authenticity, immortalizing the strength, vulnerability, and camaraderie shared among these remarkable individuals. As you embark on this visual journey, I invite you to reflect on the significance of brotherhood within black cultures and appreciate the resilience and courage it takes to thrive in a world that may not always understand its nuances. . . . @byayanag / @ayanamplified ( shot + creative direction ) models: @djelybacar.kouyate & @mishiouu photo assistant: @raba.jpg set: @ayanamplified | @aamp.d set assistant: @nthabisengc__ styling: @azmareec | @stush_llc styling assist: @erynyoo studio: @alte.labs retouch: @rinav_retouch

Two weeks post-show isn’t too terrible, right? 😅 I wanted to share my gratitude to @nommohouse for being a part of their group exhibition, ‘Becoming’. If you weren’t at the opening, you missed an incredible turnout... the line was down the block. A real reflection of the community the artists and @adewalemaye have built. Thank you for the new connections, the love, and everyone who came out to support! Second image captured by: @nayab.jade

On Her Own Terms, 2025 Archival Handprint 16 in x 20 in It’s the last week to see this piece as apart of the @creativealliancebaltimore group show ‘Untethered Familiars’. Ayana Gordon presents an image from The Shape of Her, a forthcoming series exploring the beauty and challenges of becoming a woman. Rooted in her own relationships and reflections, the series explores sisterhood, friendship as devotion, romantic relationships, motherhood beyond expectation, and the boundless talents women carry; the work honors transition as both tender and charged. This image marks the final stage of a woman’s unraveling: a moment after the layers have been shed. The figure is adorned with eccentric details that feel unmistakably her —small artifacts of selfhood. In the mirror, she catches her own gaze and pauses, contemplating what remains when performance falls away, and what it means to choose who you are becoming.
