If you are following this account - THANK YOU! (@amyseder here) @bburkley and I launched Away Lands back in 2015 as a dream to travel and shoot the world. In the beginning, we just wanted to go to as many corners of the earth as we could and create photos and videos and find a way to keep doing it as long as we could - then along the way realized we were planning a business and production company. We filed our business paperwork 5 years ago this month, and it’s felt like we’ve been running around chaotically busy ever since. Just my Instagram room up so much of my time, and then commercial work, and then my blog, and then emails and marketing, and shoot production, and the presets and my course, and then TikTok and reels…. and we never fully figured out what to do with this Away Lands Instagram. So now this is going to be a place to share more of the behind the scenes and the editing that goes into our work. Last summer we launched Master of Photoshop, a comprehensive photoshop masterclass and I am so unbelievably proud of what we created and how much it is continuing to evolve. Especially as a woman in commercial photography and film, I have spent most of my life as the only woman on the camera crew - and online education feels the same way. There are so few technical courses taught by women.
