Ode to Béla Tarr (2026)
Not the ideal way to start the year per se. 100 degree fever, 1 year anniversary of the Eaton and Palisade fires, and now the death of a visionary. C’est la vie I suppose. If I haven’t already said it enough, Béla Tarr was instrumental in shifting my understanding of the capabilities and scope of the cinematic medium. His film, Sátántangó, thoroughly destroyed my puny limited mind way back when. How in God’s name someone could create a SINGULAR, 7 hour long movie, I could not fathom. Not cut into bits, not a mini-series, not a trilogy, but ONE, seven and a half hour long piece of cinema, existed in the world. *Little did I know other such projects existed- but Sátántangó was arguably the most notorious of them all. It’s funny, I remember receiving my copy of the DVD I purchased off EBay, and immediately upon opening the case found not one, not two, but three disks inside. None of them special features. It was at this point I knew I was fucked. Thank you for all the lessons Béla Tarr. I’m not even done with his filmography yet, but I’m certain he’s already up there with the best of them. Rest in peace, maestro, you will be missed.

Casting call for my latest project: “last words-”
last words- is an experimental short film that explores the last voice messages people leave their exes. It features 4 separate stories about heartbreak, each story is spoken in a distinct language, and will be shot using 4 different cameras.
Casting for the following roles:
- “Boy” | Male, Age: 18-25
Open to all ethnicities, height, etc.
- “Girl” | Female, Age: 18-25
Open to all ethnicities, height, etc.
Casting For the Following Voice Acting Roles:
- Daniel | Male, Must be fluent in English
- Estrella | Female, Must be fluent in Spanish
- Mei | Female, Must be fluent in Mandarin Chinese
- Extras | Any gender, Must be fluent in two or more languages
