2025. Thankful for family, friends, cats, and for finding a community of climate activists in RI who trusted and supported me this year as I found my place in the movement here. 💚🌎
Happy Earth Day 💚
If you feel hopeless about climate there is actually so much work you can do at the local level and it will make you feel better I can almost promise that. Go to community meetings! Go to events! Talk to people! Write testimony for bills! Write op-eds for your local paper! Call into radio shows! Create art!
If you find yourself thinking “it’s all up to the federal government and big corporations and I’m just one person” you’re not alone in that, but you’re also… not alone. Earth day didn’t go global overnight. 🌎

I voted for Kamala Harris. I believe she is our best option if we want a livable future. I’ve devoted a good part of basically the last 10 years of my life to learning about and advocating for climate and environmental action. We do not have time to not do everything we can about the climate crisis.
Of course there are many other issues for why I also voted in this way, such as reproductive rights, LGBTQ+ rights, I could go on. But I’m just going to take this opportunity to say vote for climate. And whatever happens this week, even if Trump gets in and bans CO2 from being called a pollutant, pulls us out of the Paris Agreement, privatizes the National Weather Service, and more… I’ll still be learning about and advocating for climate action idk probably forever. 🌀🫶🌎 hang tight folks!
Loved this post I worked on for @futureearth with design by @bymatthewmiller - so reposting on my personal! 🪸
What started off as a seemingly (to naive me at least) straightforward question “how does seaweed sequester carbon?” turned into finding myself reading “The reality is, scientists don’t know nearly enough about seaweed’s capacity to pull carbon out of the atmosphere and store it long term.” 😵💫 And in going deeper, reading “the biggest unknown is how carbon moves between the ocean and the atmosphere” and having to accept “the ocean just does that” instead of trying to teach myself organic chemistry.
Forever learning and thankful to the friends and colleagues who support my efforts to answer climate questions like this! (for this one in particular thank you @queenconk for your help in checking my science and drawing diagrams to explain it!)
🌎⚡️Join the Newport Energy & Environment Commission for a summer educational series on climate change and resilience! Together, we will learn about the environmental impacts Newport county and Aquidneck Island are facing and how we can work to address them.
There will be three opportunities to hear from experts in their fields on environmental concerns relevant to our community and have your questions answered. All sessions will run 6:30 to 8:30pm and be held in the Newport City Hall Council Chambers.
🌊 JULY 23: Climate Change & Aquidneck Island
🐟 AUGUST 8: The Effect of Climate Change and Offshore Wind on Fisheries and Ocean Ecosystems
🌬️AUGUST 15: Offshore Wind Development off of Aquidneck Island and Newport County
We will have time for audience questions following extended introductions and a discussion between panelists facilitated by the Energy & Environment commission. All are welcome to attend these free and public events.
Please contact the EEC Chair, Avery Robertson ([email protected]) for any questions. (Or DM me!)

That was pretty cool 🌘🌑🌒
Loved seeing people so excited and happy over this little event, going outside to watch our sun and moon on our little earth 🥹
nature is pretty wonderful
I’m so sorry I cut off the cruel summer bridge I was just too excited and needed to sing along too 😖
Got to see two of my favorite artists this year @chappellroan and @taylorswift
From a little while ago, but just saw news about the Amazon and Greenland Ice Sheet on the verge of passing these so reposting. I’m honestly kindof burnt out on it all, and tired of how instead of addressing these genuine threats to humanity we instead have to fight for our human rights from politicians who fearmonger for power. I only have negative things to say right now so I’m just gonna leave this here.
