โ€ผ๏ธ MERCH DESIGN DROP โ€ผ๏ธ I am so excited to share this GORGEOUS design by the incredibly talented @sid.saint.id ! They transformed my initial logo idea into this stunning, fiery stained glass illustration. Can you spot the hidden horns? ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ˜ˆ I have stickers of this design in glitter and holographic finishes! Theyโ€™ll be on sale for $3 each at all my upcoming shows, starting with Hole Show on 2/21. I can also bring them to shows I attend upon request!

๐Ÿ† DykefestMania champions ๐Ÿ† One of the most fun numbers Iโ€™ve made in a while. A reminder that you can really make anything of your drag. If you want to be beaten up by Rhea Ripley on stage, you can absolutely do that. This luchador mask was Made From Scratch by @ava.ryss based on patterns from @ophidiancobra . They also embellished the pants, shoes, gloves, and vest (not shown). Always in awe of their talent!! Thank you @andivandyke for having me in the first monthly installation of @dykefestboston at Jacques!!! Thank you @jarvis.deangelo.subia for being the announcer voiceover Photos by the lovely @rickyyreyess ๐Ÿ“ธ

โ€ฆis now . . . I grew up with โ€œNever Again.โ€ I also grew up Zionist. In temple, we learned that Israel was established after the Holocaust, and that many wars had been fought by people who wanted the land for themselves and wanted to see Jews eradicated. I thought this made sense, and I was glad that Israel existed, because Jews needed a home, a place to be safe. I traveled to Israel on Birthright and marveled at how incredibly at home I felt to no longer be in the minority. When we drove by the West Bank barrier walls on the way to Yad Vashem, I didnโ€™t even think about them. Israel needed security, after all. Words cannot begin to express the agony, the grief, the disgust, the betrayal I felt as I have watched Israelโ€™s cruel and horrific torture of Gaza and its people. I read about the history of Palestine and realized how much I had been lied to. I learned how much hatred my people and even members of my family held in their hearts. I still struggle to understand it. We of all people should know better. To be the ones committing genocide is something unspeakable. Never again is now. - I am grateful to have had the opportunity to share this extremely vulnerable number with a mostly Jewish audience. Though most of us are now focused on the horrors occurring within the US, the relief work in Gaza continues. Please donate to the PCRF if you can. /donate Photos by @hlebertphoto for @aintmitzvahavin Keychain by @dulce.de.leather

Never Again . . . The history of the Jewish people is one of persecution. I grew up imbued with this history, from our holidays, so many of which celebrate Jews prevailing over those who would deport or murder us; to the reason my family is in the United States and not Ukraine, because they fled the pogroms of the early 1900s; to the legacy of the Holocaust, giving me nightmares about trains for most of my childhood. I have stood at the gates of Auschwitz and Dachau and then returned home to have jokes about concentration camps told to my face. Yet throughout my life, this history and reality has always been woven with another message: that Jews, as a people who know suffering, have a moral responsibility to speak out against persecution The post-Holocaust era gave rise to the statement ืœึฐืขื•ึนืœึธื ืœึนื ืขื•ึนื“, โ€œNever Again.โ€ It is both an expression of grief at what occurred, and the promise and pledge to prevent the recurrence of genocide and mass atrocities - not just for Jews, but for all peoples. See pic #3 for a rare glimpse of my drag assistant ๐Ÿ‘€ This act is my most prop- and costume-heavy number by far, and I made almost all of it from scratch! Aside from purchasing the LED cape and the skeleton suit pieces for @thevonvoid and myself, I built everything, including the boat, the transforming scythe/oar, the death headpiece, rib cage, and rotting moss body. I used mostly cardboard, EVA foam, foam clay, and crafting moss. The boat also breaks down into two pieces for easier transportation. I really enjoyed bringing my vision to life and I am enormously proud of what I was able to accomplish. Crafting is my favorite part of the process, and I love learning new techniques and seeing my skills slowly improve. โ€œDeath must be so beautiful. To lie in the soft brown earth, with the grasses waving above oneโ€™s head, and listen to silence. To have no yesterday, and no tomorrow. To forget time, to forgive life, to be at peace.โ€ - Oscar Wilde I originally created this number for Tippendudes: Calendar Edition, where I was given the month of September. September is National Suicide Prevention Month, as well as the peak of the Atlantic hurricane season. I wanted to imagine a world where Death is not a villain, but something that meets us with love and guides us through our final transformation. I could not have done this without my duet partner @thevonvoid . You understood. ๐Ÿ–ค Thank you @restingclownface for believing in my art and giving me a stage at @holeshow69 ๐Ÿ–ค Incredible backdrop video by @riel.thing ๐Ÿ–ค Photos by @uncanny_rabbit ๐Ÿ–ค
