🌈 Queer Story Space
📅 Sat May 16th
⏰ 11am–1pm
📍 The Lab, Aviva Studios, Manchester If you’re heading to The Age of Consent on May 17th, this is the perfect companion event—offering a more personal, conversational way to connect with our collective queer past. Join us for an intimate, facilitated gathering to meet and share stories with other LGBTQIA+ people—across generations, across lived experiences. SHARE YOUR STORY 🩺🌈 We want to hear from LGBTQI+ doctors and dentists — especially if you have memories of training or practising anytime from the 1960s–2000s. Aunt Nell is working with GLADD, with support from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, on a powerful project exploring how LGBTQI+ professionals have shaped their fields from within. Together, we’re collecting stories and creating a documentary podcast series to bring these experiences to life. 💬 YOUR STORY MATTERS
Your experiences could be recorded as part of this project, preserved in GLADD’s archive at the Bishopsgate Institute, and featured in the podcast (we’ll explain everything and guide you through the process). ✨ Interested?
👉 Fill out the form via the link in our bio and we’ll be in touch to see if it’s right for you. 📩 Have questions? Get in touch — we’d love to hear from you. #ShareYourStory #LGBTQHistory #LGBTQProfessionals #OralHistory #HeritageProject

Listen back to the latest episode of The Log Books: An Army of Lovers Cannot Fail - 003 Sometimes you read a book and feel ‘this is a bit of me!’ That’s how we both felt reading An Army of Lovers Cannot Fail, so we wanted to talk about it. It’s a book about friendship, across generations, and the power of queer solidarity. So it also led us to two recent photography exhibitions too. -Adam + Tash Discussed in this episode: Book: An Army of Lovers Cannot Fail by Hélène Giannecchini Exhibition: We Others: Donna Gottschalk and Hélène Giannecchini @ The Photographers’ Gallery until June 7th Exhibition: Catherine Opie: To Be Seen @ National Portrait Gallery, until May 31st —— The Log Books is hosted and produced by @tashwalker85 and @Adam.Zmith The assistant producer is @mmiiaax Music from Soundstripe Original artwork by Natalie Doto Thanks to the dreamboats at @acast #TheLogBooks #QueerHistory #LGBTQBooks #lgbtq

VOLUNTEER WITH US 🩺🌈 We need YOU for an exciting new project exploring the experiences of LGBTQI+ doctors and dentists — and how they’ve shaped their professions from within. Aunt Nell is teaming up with GLADD to dive into a powerful archive dating back to the 1970s, uncovering stories, memories, and voices that deserve to be heard. With support from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, we’re expanding this collection — and creating a brand new documentary podcast series along the way (think Sing it Pink… but with fewer songs and more stethoscopes!). We’re looking for a small group of volunteers to join us. You’ll receive training in oral history, interviewing, sound recording, and ethics — then head out to capture the stories of some truly inspiring people. ✨ Want to be part of preserving this important history?
