12 collages one for each month 🥰
I thifited a baby memory calendar and transformed the space for each month into a collage memory. Sometimes I thought about what I wanted in the following month while others were inspired by happenings in my life- friendships, lovers, endeavors, or materials - August is entirely stickers. So grateful for this thrift find but more importantly my follow through. Frfr the sprial on this thing is great, weight of paper perfect- its hallmark, its pink- a color I've leaned into lately.
Jan- April were made this year - the year of the horse is represented. February was started at Leti's house during the first full moon. March was made at HouFoundme. April was bittersweet as the flow for the project was really exciting.
May- Dec were made last year- the year of the snake ..the year i shed my skin and showed work as a collage artist . May and June were my first collage to collage for collage sake aka stop overthinking. July was created at Gluestick Mafia from a couple of covers of the same Paper City. August was the first one made in the studio with Julia. And October was the first one with my mark making / has an entire secret underneath the Dali painting.
The last two give me chills. Something about the alchemy created with them . The abundance of my life at the time , it all seems to live in each of the works.

Collage is more of a hobby and art therapy more than anything it is in my art practice. These collages are spiritual, brought me abundance, and hold memories of even more to bloom in my art ecosystem.

Heard its a scorpio full moon and my life always gets a turn upside down to be right around again.
Cheers to 3 yrs and 2 months face painting, putting all my time in my passions, finding you all , and all around trusting in something bigger than me - is gotta work towards something bigger than me maybe its the reformed baptist maybe its the yes prep alumni (both so southern/htown) haha
None the less, take a jab at the craft, if you have the support take a risk and bet on yourself. Bring the work to Crafts Night at 8th wonder . Ask friends their thoughts , dicuss ideas and meet fellow artists. I couldn't be where I am ate with out all the lived experiences, invitations, and opportunities
