Obviously bridging EDM and rock isnât a new concept. Thereâs a lot of ârocktronicâ music out there already. But Iâve been consistently bothered by how jarring the switches between the 2 genres are.
like itâs very obvious when it turns into the âdropâ or when it switches back into the ârock part.â Once I hear that it kinda pulls me out of the song, you end up with something that technically checks both boxes but doesnât fully commit to being a true âhybridâ IMO.
There are a few alternate versions of âForsakenâ that came together super fast but I kept scrapping it. This track took freaking FOREVER but the final feels like a continuous thought instead of a bunch of cool parts glued together.
Hopefully all of this overthinking with @dreanisme was worth it? đ€
