Another monster from @_moncrieff came out yesterday in the form of âPoint Me To The Skyâ. Chris brought this to me in March to produce up, and we had a glorious few days singing, playing, turning my AC30 up loud, hammering the piano, putting the space echo through its paces and all the rest of the good stuff.
Elite tier writing from Chris, @bastian_langebaek and @gerardoconnell , and always a pleasure getting things to the finish line when @leesmithmixer is involved.
Special mention to @audiokitchen who recently made the AC30 roar like it never has before. This song wouldnât sound the same without it!

Earlier this year we got the incredible opportunity to head down to @abbeyroadstudios to chat to the engineers and staff and give some training on gear that we had recently provided for them
It was so nice to meet everyone and even nicer to see everyone having so much fun with gear we have come to know and love here at the Soundgas HQ
Can you spot any Soundgas regulars in here? đ
Read the full blog now on our site and find out about Soundgas at Abbey Road!

Another Little Chop off to make its life amongst our cousins across the pond..
But how many different kinds of wood went into it!

Take me to Church.
On our way back from seeing Radiohead at the O2 (post coming soon), Jo and I made a pilgrimage to Paul Epworthâs stunning studio, The Church, which originally belonged to Dave Stewart of Eurythmics (his old bedroom is now the machine room!).
We received the warmest welcome from the lovely team at The Church and were given a guided tour by senior engineer Chiara Ferracuti who gets to spend her days at the stunning 72 channel EMI Neve. One of the rarest vintage Neves, it is made up of two halves, one of which came from Abbey Road and was used to record Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd.
Some studios you visit are big, businesslike and sometimes a little soulless, but The Church is a warm cocoon that is very inviting - I didnât want to leave!
Itâs the people that make a place really special but, with a studio, it is also about the gear, and few can match The Church in this regard. Everywhere I looked my eyes alighted on grails - from that desk with its 72 channels of vintage 1091s, to henâs teeth like the EMI Zener Limiter RS168A, Korg PS-3300, EMI TG12413 Limiters⊠I could go on. Simply jaw dropping and clearly created and curated by people with impeccable sonic tastes.
It is an honour to see Soundgas gear in such incredible company and to hear that the Type 636P2 is getting daily use. It makes us very happy to know the work we do is appreciated and to contribute towards the stunning recordings being made in this hallowed space.
We had a wonderful time chatting with Chiara and our visit was over too soon. Iâve made a promise to myself that we will return to record something - maybe a Soundgas sample pack created at The Church?
Our thanks to Chiara and the team for making us so welcome - enjoy the carousel of photos - it is indeed a holy space!
