As we enter Thanksgiving week, I’m thrilled to share that I am now a proud citizen of Ghana! I am both an American and Ghanaian citizen. The first in my family to gain dual citizenship, but certainly not the last.
What does this mean? I am Ghanaian. I share the same rights as Ghanaian citizens and can travel freely between the U.S. and Ghana without a visa. More importantly, it deepens my responsibility to my people—to contribute, support, give, love, and act.
I’m not just adding my name to a citizenship list—I’m becoming part of Ghana’s story.
Thank you, Lord, for expanding my territory!

1. My cousin and I produced our very first film- A Nation Within! Received two awards this year.
2. We returned to Ethiopia to expand our company - AdaChic design
3. My family visited my DC office.
4. Weekend getaway to Tulum
5. First Lady’s Luncheon is always a good time.
6. The DNC in Chicago and the weekend in the Bahamas with a few friends
7. Dinner with friends in Santa Clara, California . Went to Newark to celebrate my God-son’s 5th bday!
8. 4th of July White House lawn party
9. Hosted Friends in Accra, Ghana
10. Received my Ghanaian Citizenship!
11. Spent the holiday in South Africa
12. New Niece made her way into the world 🩷
Oh and taking a pic with Senator Warnock and President Obama (who was Senator Obama when I started working for him) .
Now I’m ready to return to work tomorrow, refreshed and excited.

April- traveled the state of GA

June- Miami with my Line sisters , Ghana and Deep Sea fishing in Alabama
July - Detroit to see my sweet Anita Baker , San Francisco to the Blue note Jazz Festival, the Hampton’s , Book of HoV and had Breakfast at Tiffanys , White House 4th of July event
August- yearly summer trip to MV with family
September - CBC and Houston to see Beyonce
Also I had a chance to interview Senator Warnock
October- Liverpool, England & Dublin, Ireland ( where I had my first beer non -alcoholic ) , Received the community Award at the WICERS Conference in Atlanta
November - Convocation Speaker for Talladega College Founder’s Program
December - receiving the Young Dems award, Vegas (Usher) , Bahamas, Taking my mentees to the White House and ending the Year in Miami 🩷
I’m still riding the high from last weekend. My heart is overflowing with the love and support that was shown to me Friday night.
The award is a representation of the work that I will continue to do to honor the amazing champions who have gone before me and ensure that we all have the opportunity to become what God has created us to be.
I stand on the shoulders of the “fearless, bold, and with unshakable faith in God” of great men and women of the past and present. I am beyond moved by the unwavering support of Senator Warnock and the heartening and inspiring words of Mayor Kasim Reed.
I will honor each of you by continuing to serve to the best of my ability. I hold dear our collective commitment to shaping a brighter political future. Thank you to my village for showing up like you always do .
