My favorite conference is coming up: the @sfwa_inc Nebula Conference! I first attended the Nebulas in 2019 and it changed my entire outlook on my writing career. I highly recommend it for anyone writingāor wanting to writeāin the SFF genre. I always meet amazing people and have a blast!!
Early bird registration ends soon, so snag a ticket at the lower price while you can. Hope to see you in Pasadena!
Finished my first ever crochet project, a jellyfish! šŖ¼
I struggle with doomscrolling, so I took up crochet as a way to use my hands and do something relatively relaxing/low brain power rather than being on my phone. I also love audiobooks, and crochet is automatic enough that I can listen and crochet at the same time (I used to listen and play mindless phone games, and this feels a lot more productive).
In the past few weeks Iāve been crocheting Iāve found that itās very easy to pick up (I learned in a few hours from YouTube tutorials and making granny squares) and also incredibly forgiving. Turns out I am very bad at countingāthanks, goldfish brainābut despite many, many, MANY errors I still have this cute lil guy. Having small, accomplishable goals is also really good for my mental health.
What do you all do rather than doomscroll? Iām always looking for new ideas.
