Mr. Darcy graces our Christmas tree atop a rhinoceros this year. A most noble mount indeed.

Hi. It’s been a while. Here’s some onions. Life is complicated, but I have onions caramelizing and the new Taylor album on repeat. Could be worse. Maybe I post more soon?

My favorite conference is coming up: the @sfwa_inc Nebula Conference! I first attended the Nebulas in 2019 and it changed my entire outlook on my writing career. I highly recommend it for anyone writing—or wanting to write—in the SFF genre. I always meet amazing people and have a blast!! Early bird registration ends soon, so snag a ticket at the lower price while you can. Hope to see you in Pasadena!

Finished my first ever crochet project, a jellyfish! 🪼 I struggle with doomscrolling, so I took up crochet as a way to use my hands and do something relatively relaxing/low brain power rather than being on my phone. I also love audiobooks, and crochet is automatic enough that I can listen and crochet at the same time (I used to listen and play mindless phone games, and this feels a lot more productive). In the past few weeks I’ve been crocheting I’ve found that it’s very easy to pick up (I learned in a few hours from YouTube tutorials and making granny squares) and also incredibly forgiving. Turns out I am very bad at counting—thanks, goldfish brain—but despite many, many, MANY errors I still have this cute lil guy. Having small, accomplishable goals is also really good for my mental health. What do you all do rather than doomscroll? I’m always looking for new ideas.
