A love letter to books, recorded live at the @latimesfob 📞 with @afterthetone.co Thank you to everyone who left us a voicemail about the stories they carry with them.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and I want to know how you celebrate anyway.
Celebrating anyway is not a declaration of optimism.
It is not pretending to feel something you do not feel.
Happiness responds to what is happening around you, but joy exists underneath the circumstances, not because of them.
Choose Joy.
This is the practice of anchoring yourself in the present moment so that what is hard does not become the only thing that is real.
That matters because most of us were never taught that healing and joy can exist at the same time.
You do not have to wait until things get better to be grounded in where you are right now.
How do you Celebrate Anyway?

Hemingway once said, “There is no friend as loyal as a book.” Well, we’d like to edit that slightly. To us, there is no friend as loyal as a book — or the good people who help us pull off the @latimes Festival of Books! 💫
We’re still basking in the glow of the nation’s largest book festival, so we wanted to make sure to shout out all the volunteers, staffers, exhibitors, authors, and partners that made this year possible! 📚
Thank YOU for everything! 🥰 #bookfest
We’ll be thinking about #bookfest 2026 until further notice. Sorry not sorry. 😎
What books are hitting your #TBR pile first? Sound off in the comments, bookworms! 📚🐛
And a super big thanks to all of our partners who made this year’s festival possible! 📸 @varonp@imagesbypablo
I loved meeting best selling author @kristinharmel at the LA Times Festival of Books just 2 wknds ago !!! @latimesfob 📚
It was a kindred spirit moment 💫 And, because she did not send me these for promo purposes, it made me want to share with all of you even more!
If you are already a fan, then you know she is the real deal and I hope this shines a light on that even more. And, if you are not familiar with Kristin and her work - which I’ve already started reading and can’t put down - then I’m hoping this post inspires you to check out what could be your new favorite author!
PS : Kristin has already read and listened to my book top to tail. So honoured ! 🥹
Another PS … this my original 🎹 piece French Carousel 🎠 playing in the background which feels like it fits perfectly with the recurring Paris theme 🇫🇷 🥐
Enjoy all things KH for your next Spring/Summer 2026 read !!!
