Studioli Prequel is on view at Spazio Supernova. Piazza di Santa Maria in Trastevere 1a, Rome. Monday-Friday 5-8 pm and by appointment. Prequel is a group exhibition bringing together works made by the parents of artists and friends of Studioli. Drawings, images, sculptures, poems, sounds, films, objects, and paintings, a body of works that forms an affective and generational archive. The grown children are not exhibiting; they are the threadcommon. The exhibition precedes them: it is a collection of works reflecting the genealogy of a generation. A generation of artists, designers, poets, filmmakers, and more, both protagonists and witnesses to the cultural landscape of the past fifty years. Studioli presents the group show Prequel at Supernova, bringing together images, sounds, drawings, sculptures, films, design objects, and paintings made by the parents of artists and friends of Studioli. Moving between historically established works and informal practices, Prequel challenges the idea of a singular, generational authorship. At a time when works are constantly revisited, reinterpreted, and reframed, the exhibition reflects on origins as an open, shared field and on whether it is even possible to trace a stable genealogy.
