In the hollow left by whatever slipped through our fingers, something sparks—an instinct to make, to mark, to leave traces of the heart in places it can be found again. Even when longing aches like a bruise that never quite fades, we return to it willingly, pulled by the promise of becoming.

Yearning is the mind’s most insatiable hunger: consuming the reserves of what once was, what could have been, and what it is yet to be. And it also reciprocates.
