Workposting :3 What a finale, am I right? Last year I had the honour of working on the most recent season of The Boys as the dedicated supersuits FX builder (Canadian side!), where I maintained, repaired, and altered the incredible suits made by @ljsupersuits and her team in Los Angeles during the 8 months of filming. Seriously a dream show to be a part of, with a great crew and the most impeccable vibes around 😎 Big thank you to the supersuits team @popster8 @d4delaney @gwen_sday @pushtheskyaway_ @emzulk , designers Michael Ground and Laura Jean Shannon, and build shop teammates @hellorayw @s_equals_k_log_w @munstercook @unorthodoxdesign . Loved every minute of it 🥰

Volta is coming up fast, and I'm crafting up a storm for this year's cosplays! I have some photoshoot plans that I'm very excited about, so in the meantime here's a flashback to one of my favourite photos from my time at @il.volta 2024 with @photolisteners and my MVP buddy, Bleidd of @mulas_pack . I love this shot, it's like a tiny moment of calm before Jaheira has to go deal with those dang Bhaalspawn again. Now, back into the workshop for me! 💪 Character: Jaheira From: Baldur's Gate 3 Event: @il.volta 2024 Photographer: @photolisteners Canine Companion and his best friend: @mulas_pack Cosplay made and worn by: @asterisk.exe Wig styled by: @faelablanche #bg3 #baldursgate3 #voltaincosplay #handmade #larianstudios

EDI cosplay by @asterisk.exe Photography by @kameraninja I just realized that I never actually made a photo post of the newly edited and updated EDI photos, I made a couple videos and I have a couple more videos I would like to make on subject matters around this photo shoot but the photos themselves have not had a dedicated and focused post to them and for real they are too damn good not to give them the spotlight they deserve. I also discovered a fantastic plugin that gives a super authentic feeling CRT VHS retro vibe that 8 really like. I think my next video is going on the caution and benefit of downgrading your images 😅 Latex suit by @kinkengineering Fun lore drop but years after this shoot kiga would then do a work placement with Marika at KE to learn how to craft with latex and would eventually use those skills to make her own stunning Ladybug costume. New project... 2! I was a bit late to the party when it comes to Metaphor: ReFantasio, but so many of you said I should cosplay Rella that I had to pick up a copy. And it was love at first sight! Rella will be my second cosplay for this year's @il.volta , and I definitely couldn't do it without the help of my very talented friends at @thedangerousladies . @quicksparrows has done all the pattern drafting, mockups, and 3D modeling—even keeping me on schedule by showing up at my place twice a month to work on it together. I may have sewn a second wig's worth of wefts into my base, but @poisonne did all the preliminary cutting and styling for me—now the wig just needs its final styling day once I land. Timeline is getting tight, but I'm having fun with it, so hopefully more progress to show soon!

New project!! Okay, not really new. I've been working on Clare from Claymore for almost a year, but I never got in the habit of sharing progress. So... big long recap post! @faelablanche had the idea to do Clare and Miria for @il.volta , and after one look at this character I was sold. She's pretty much exactly my type 😂 Volta is just under 2 months away so I've gotta keep my eye on the prize, although I've made quite a bit of progress already! I'm extra excited about the sword. @ainlina_props graciously modified her incredible 3D file to make the grip and pommel removable, so the sword can become small enough to fly with! It screws together with aluminum threaded rods and a hex coupling on either side. Gigantic thank you to Ainlina, and also to @thedangerousladies for giving me a space to put this big boi together! I have to give a special shoutout to @quicksparrows and especially @poisonne , for holding my hand through a VERY experimental process to get the broken-down-but-still-reflective effect. This is definitely one of those pieces where you learn and learn and learn. 😅 I'm gonna try to share progress as it happens from here on! Wish me luck 🤩🤞

Revisiting this shoot after 10 years and editing some unearthed gems in my current style with current tech. #5 is an original shot edited 10 years ago. It was the anniversary of the release of Mass effect 3 and so I wanted to revisit my first dedicated studio cosplay shoot using coloured gels with @asterisk.exe in her incredible EDI cosplay latex crafted by @kinkengineering . This was one of my first shoots in the style and it went viral at the time cuz these kind of shoots were still pretty rare. I love the photos we took but the style of which I edit photos have changed so much since those days I kind of want it to revisit the shoot see if there's some hidden gems that could still be unearthed and try to process those with my current skills and the current tech. A really fun experiment to do if you have the opportunity to revisit some of your work from a bygone era. The 5th photo in this set is from the original edits I processed 10 years ago. Which is still very cool by little too contrasty. The blacks are a little too black without detail and the skin editing though it's meant to be synthetic feels just a little too much so. At the end of the day there's no wrong answers but it's fun to see styles evolve over the years.

It's finally in theatres! Mamoru Hosoda's Scarlet! I have my tickets to see it in IMAX in just a few minutes but based on the trailer and the screening at tiff last year @asterisk.exe and i were able to craft this look on the @thedangerousladies blood pool set. Super happy with these fun shots and now to see how they hold up to the real deal! #scarletmovie

EDI by @asterisk.exe Catsuit by @kinkengineering Everyone all up on that 2016 game had me looking back only to discover this iconic shoot that got featured on like a dozen different websites is now officially 10 years old!? We have since gone on to do a bunch of just really super fun and wild projects and I'm excited for the future but this was our first big collab. I was going through the folder and there's some gold there that never fully got processed I'm thinking I might do a live editing stream going through some of these old photos editing them in the style that I do today in 2026 and maybe just talk about how I've seen cosplay photography change in that time? I don't know if that's something people would be interested in but might be a fun thing for myself. Let me know how you guys all feel also I do love that this shoots still kind of holds up after all this time even though I would approach it wildly differently now I think this is my first attempt at using colored gels and now it's kind of become a staple calling card. In addition and I love this as a sign of growth but as a lot of you might know years after the shoot kiga would go on to intern with kink engineering to learn to craft with latex and then in turn would make the viral ladybug cosplay that exploded a couple years ago I just love seeing wild talent like that evolve over the years!

It's full speed ahead working on two new builds for @il.volta 2026! I'm pretty bad at remembering to post progress photos and by now I'm halfway through one of the cosplays, is it too late to start? Should I just pick a day to post a bunch of stories to catch up and make a highlight? Help me out chat 😭🙏 Throwback to my last Volta, and this super cool night shoot with @chriszeta_ ! I love the lighting here, and the reflection in the rain puddle? Mwah! 😘👌 Such a fun time, thank you for shooting with me!

Scarlett Cosplay by @asterisk.exe Blood Pool Studio by @thedangerousladies 📸 @kameraninja Also thanks to @heavenlyvisuals for the co-shooting experience! I'm a huge fan of Mamoru Hosoda, He's made some of my favorite movies Summerwars. Wolf Children, The boy and the beast, Belle The movie was just released a theaters in Japan but Kiga was able to see a screening of it at TIFF well I on the other hand wasn't able to catch a screening but was able to meet the director himself at one of the film festivals after parties Realistically none of that has any bearing on this project other than just huge nerds wanting to do huge nerd things and super happy with the result! Inspired by the one scene reference in this post the dangerous lady's blood pool was a no-brainer we have the talent we have the location why are we not doing the shoot kind of scenario!

This week I finally finished my Volta application, and while I was going through my catalogue, I got this overwhelming feeling, like I was looking at some of my work again for the first time. I've been so critical of everything I make. By the time I'm finished, I already feel like I want to do better next time, and whatever I've made feels like it's already in the past so it's hard to be proud of it anymore. Case in point, this She-Ra build that took me almost a year and that I've only ever worn twice. Why was I so unhappy with this? There are a few areas where I wish I'd done a better tailoring job, but I didn't have the knowledge at the time, and everything else is pretty solid. I like the colours, it's sturdily-built and easily washable, the proportions are flattering, and it's comfortable to wear. I'm actually impressed with myself looking at the bracers and diadem five years in the future. So many people encouraged and helped me to make this, and it's literally sitting in a garment bag at the back of my closet. Why??? I last wore She-Ra at @vieccviennacomiccon two years ago, and @valentinpictures took these amazing hall shots. And then I never posted them, because I was insecure about the cosplay! That's incomprehensible to me now. These photos are so great, they really make me feel like a superhero. I'm so glad I went digging for Volta and found these shots again. Val, you always make me look awesome, even if my head gets in the way of me realizing it. ❤️ #shera #adora #spop #dreamworks
