This is a Music Video i've animated for my song "Insomnia". It's a very personal project i've put a lot of time and effort in, and i'm happy to finally be able to share it.
For this animation I wanted to experiment with a visual style that merges both 2D and 3D animation techniques, evoking the glow of neon lights in a dark cityscape. (Also loosely inspired by the Stranger Things opening titles.)
Naturally, everything you see was created using Blender, no AI was used in any step of the process.

Being part of this love letter to the Bionicle Universe was really special to me. The music of the Movie Trilogy has been near and dear to me for as long as i can remember, and composing an original score that fits into and builds on that established musical canon has been an exciting challenge.
"The Mangai" features returning characters like Toa Lhikan, so among the many new Themes, there are also some familiar ones that return in a new context.
And on that note, a huge thank you goes out to @nathanfurst , for not only being super chill but also for composing some of my favorite, formative film scores of my childhood (and beyond)!
