Another one of the greats has left us. Thomas Bahler, an incredibly talented and successful musician who contributed to “the sound” of the 60s 70s and 80s, was also a genuine and kind soul (a fairly rare thing to find). I didn’t know him very well, but I struggle to think of someone I owe more gratitude to - he played a big role introducing me to my love and my bride, after years of being a father figure to her. Thomas, thank you for everything you did for Britlin - from mentoring and supporting her to protecting her when others could not. You did an incredible service to me, and I believe, the world. I’ve attempted to chisel away at that debt over the last decade, and now that the opportunity has closed, with this post, the weight of the remaining unpaid debt weighs heavy. Thomas, you’ve proven how much “good” there can be in this world if more people were like you, and I’ll never forgive you for it. My heart breaks for everyone who was graced with his being. 10 years after our accidental first date @blueplateoysterette , they’re closing their doors on Jan 4th, so we had to come back one last time to say goodbye. The end of an era for us, but we’ll always have the Hollywood Bowl.
