In 2025, Assembly for the Arts strengthened collaborations across Cleveland—bringing together artists, nonprofits, funders, and civic leaders to move the creative sector forward.
From shared spaces like the MidTown Collaboration Center to cross-sector initiatives, these partnerships are breaking down silos and building a stronger, more connected arts ecosystem.
Because when we work together, we don’t just support the arts—we build a more vibrant, inclusive community.
Through our partners like Neighborhood Connections, Futureland, Cuyahoga Live and more, these events bring together artists, arts educators, nonprofit arts workers, and cultural leaders across Cuyahoga County.
We hold these events at small businesses and non-profit organizations to draw attention to the arts venues that make our community a vibrant place to live, including the Pivot Center, Treelawn Social Club, and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, among others.

Building a more inclusive arts ecosystem means making sure everyone’s voice is heard and everyone has the resources to thrive.
In 2025, Assembly for the Arts continued to break down barriers by expanding access to funding, amplifying underrepresented voices, and creating pathways for artists of all backgrounds to succeed.
One such program is our Fiscal Sponsorship program, which supported 14 projects, providing access to more than $240,000 in funding
Another program is the Artist as Entrepreneurs Institute in partnership with COSE. It’s a 4-week, 8-session curriculum that helps artists build sustainable practices with actionable business skills.
This work is about equity in action—ensuring that Cleveland’s creative community reflects the full diversity, talent, and stories of our region.
Because a stronger arts ecosystem is one where everyone belongs.

Assembly partnered with the City of Cleveland to administer the $3-million Transformative Arts Fund, which supported seven bold public art projects that celebrated the city’s spirit. These ambitious, large-scale initiatives brought together local teams of 400 paid artists, creative collaborators and 300 businesses, fabricators, designers, and institutional partners.
Assembly rallied support in 2021 to advocate for the City of Cleveland to set aside federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) for arts and culture. That effort resulted in the Transformative Arts Fund.
