We are honored to have been asked to host the NW WA brew for the WA Brewers Guild’s annual Westies With Our Besties collaboration.
Together with 16 other breweries we created this bold yet drinkable West Coast IPA hopped with Cascade Cryo, Citra, Idaho 7, and Simcoe. This beer presents with bright aromas and flavors of grapefruit, pine resin, and passionfruit. Westies has a slight bitterness that pairs beautifully with smooth cracker and white bread notes from the pilsner malt. This beer feels like a perfect reflection of what making IPA in Northwest Washington is all about, bold yet balanced flavors all while maintaining drinkability!

This past week, our co-managing owner, Jack Lamb, and our favorite artist and friend @illustrativewest took a trip across seas over to @nomcraft.brewing in Wakayama, Japan to celebrate our collaboration on, “Moon Calendar,” our West Coast IPA.
We are humbled by their warm welcome into their brewery and city. Thanks for @nomcraft.brewing for hosting us and working on this cross pacific collaboration. And of course, huge shoutout to @illustrativewest by connecting our breweries with incredible art that always tells a captivating story.

Dawn Patrol has been a staple at Aslan for the last eleven years. It has been instrumental in our growth, and we are grateful for what this beer has done to get us where we are. With that being said, it was time to taste, and reflect. In that reflection came a clear vision as to where we want to move with this beer. So, that’s exactly what we did!

When you have an artist who creates art for you but also creates art for a brewery in Japan, it only feels right to do a cross Pacific collaboration with said brewery. 🍻
Alongside Nomcraft Brewing (@nomcraft.brewing ) in Wakayama, Japan (south of Osaka), our brewers created a West Coast IPA that reflects both breweries take on the style. Fruit forward and exceptionally drinkable, this IPA is hopped with Cascade, Idaho 7, Nelson Sauvin, and Simcoe. These hops provide pineapple, white peach, lime, and white grape flavors that balance with a smooth, pleasant bitterness.
Connected through art and the love of beer, we are humbled to release this beer while @nomcraft.brewing releases the same beer across seas. 💛
Huge shoutout to the artist who has connected us together, @illustrativewest , and his work that brings energy, conversation, and connection throughout Aslan and beyond. We’re excited to release Moon Calendar, named off Connor’s artwork.
Suddenly I see new additions to the menu at the Brewpub 👀
✨ Our newest sandwich special is here, and this one is for the spice lovers! Jamaican Jerk marinated chicken OR soy curls (a delicious vegan protein option), cilantro lime coleslaw, pickled red onion, avenue hoagie, mango habanero aioli
✨Shrubs are a tangy & sweet drink made from fruit, sugar, citrus, and vinegar mixed with sparkling water to create the perfect mocktail!
We have two shrubs on the menu right now, made with our house sparkling Hop Water to add a little extra oomph! Balsamic Blueberry & Raspberry.
✨Lastly, get excited for Tinto De Verano (COMING SOON) and Kalimoxto (pronounced Kali-mo-cho) they are both Spanish wine cocktails often referred to as “red wine of summer”
Tinto De Verano is red wine and lemon lime soda topped with plenty of citrus to balance everything out Kalimoxto is red wine and cola and lemon juice.

To celebrate, we are welcoming the return of Unidos: A Mexican-style lager that boasts a depth of malt character from floor malted pilsner malt and corn. Flavors of fresh dough and cracker are balanced with a subtle hop presence of honeysuckle, citrus, and fresh cut grass. All combining with a quiet carbonation to create a thirst quenching beer for a warm spring day!
The perfect accompany to gardening, a post-ride thirst quencher, or simply in a pint on one of our patios.
