'Tamasha' never goes easy on me. It always brings an emotional flood, which makes me do things that are unpredictable or stupid. Things that might give instant peace but later drag me into over-thinking. Things where I shout at myself "कहानी की दुनिया से बाहर निकल Idiot". With new interpretations, each time the storytelling and characters put questions in my head, but it's the Heart who gets the responsibility of answering "कौन से रंग का दिल है तेरा? क्या चाहता है?" From leaving a 'not so me job' in 2015 to replaying honestly to a late night text in 2024, 'Tamasha' fu*ked me every time. It's like knowing "किसे चाहिए मन का सोना… आँख की मोती? किसे पड़ी है, अंदर क्या है?" but still expecting that... Selfish me try to play 'Tara' in everyone's life so that someone can handle my inner 'Ved' but expectation ends up saying "कौन सा तारा? किस मंज़िल का? क्या चक्कर है?" The realization hits hard like a slap because from day one "होती रेत है, लगता पानी..." The universe plays with me via this movie, and I always fall into the trap. Literally "वही कहानी फिर एक बार मजनू के लिए कपड़े फाड़ मार तमाशा बीच बाजार !" It has given me so much but, at the same time, took a lot. It's like being thankful and angry at the same time from the same person.
