Honouring a filmmaker who has contributed immensely to trans, queer, Australian cinema. TILDE is thrilled to be able to present Alice's first retrospective - 11 hours of cinema with community at the @snuffpuppets Drill Hall.
This morning we honoured Alice with a ritual to bring her into our collective space, led by the goddess @kiki_temple , @alexandra.amerides , @ashspits and @elyssiaw

Bárbara is a fortune teller preparing to become a priestess in Candomblé. Heitor is a psychologist with a passion for horses. Aylla loves makeup and partying at techno nights. Anita is a performer living in a shelter. Kalú is a photographer who helps his partner raise her stepson.
These five individuals lead different lives, yet share one thing in common: they are trans and disabled.

It’s hard to express the kupu to explain what walking back to myself feels like most of the time, but finding each other and making spaces to do that for each other has brought me closer to the versions of self I hope for everyone. I am deeply grateful for the brave hearts of my Takatāpui waiata rōpū for gifting me whānau that gifts me the mana to hold open the doors to Te Aō Māori for everyone of us searching…

Finding joy in the faces of the people we love when their worlds are being obliterated. To be seen. Witnessed and held and keep showing up.
The world is seemingly more sick and struggling in every second but Country has taught me that resilience has many faces/fazes/eras/errors so bringing your biggest bravest hearts to all the spaces you walk into can only help to guide us towards a more just future.

Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge by My Chemical Romance came out 20 years ago today and was instrumental in shaping my interest and tastes in art, music and culture. Listening to my favourite album now, it sounds as good as it ever did, and manages still to inspire and exhilarate.
