¡Feliz día de independencia, Guatemala! It was such an honor to participate and show case my art in last nights inauguration ceremony at the Los Angeles, Guatemalan Consulate. I’m so grateful for my Mayan ancestors for always guiding me to where I’m suppose to be and blessed to have had the opportunity to cut the ribbon. It was so special having my parents there. 10 year old me is so proud. I never thought I’d have a board with my name on it. Yet alone get awarded by the city because of skateboarding. Special shout out to my older sister @lunaxtine for giving me my first board and to @csef for having me on the team.
I’m truly so grateful to be on this journey with CSEF. Words can’t describe how proud I am for all the great work we’re doing.

This is a $15,000 scholarship fund supporting skateboarders who are first-generation college students, LGBTQ+, DACA recipients, or international students studying in the US. To date, the Emerald Peace Scholarship has awarded $30,000 to 8 skateboarders.
