The Handover Studio Cushion is made for use in the studio, with a fully flat base so it sits securely on your work surface rather than needing to be held.
Covered in fine black leather, it provides the slightly cushioned surface needed to control and cut leaf cleanly with a gilders knife.
Unlike our handheld cushions, this version is designed specifically for studio setups where stability matters more than portability. It stays put on the table, allowing for more controlled, repeatable cuts – especially useful when working on larger projects or over longer periods.

As the weather begins to warm it’s time to start thinking of glass work, especially gold leaf on glass!
Here’s some hand drawn, original designed type by #vonleadfootpaintworks completed in a Boston style reverse glass gild (matte centers, brilliant outers) for the clients window transom.
I carried over my original type onto the clever, hand painted lettering, corner of the building; taking advantage of the unequal fascia lengths to tie in with the name of the restaurant.
Ivory letters, metallic gold outline, dark forest green relief shades done in 1Shot.
Gold leaf was a mix of Lemon 🍋 gold brilliant outers and 23k Italian 🇮🇹 matte inners for a bit of added contrast, supplied by the fine folks @ashandover .

Since moving in to our new warehouse nearly two years ago, we’ve been sorting through stock and found loads of treasures – from dented tins and “faulty” paint batches to wrongly sized brushes and all sorts of weird and (perhaps) wonderful sundries.
Many items will be completely free to take, others will be heavily discounted (see list on our blog!)
Everything will be set up outside the warehouse, so please note that the warehouse itself will not be open to the public.
