Update: This event is has passed. Please continue to support fundraising efforts for disabled People of the Global Majority or BIPOC.
Ingat ka in Tagalog, (áá
áá written in Babayin) roughly translates to âtake care,â âtake care of yourself,â or âbe carefulâ in English. Depending on the tone and context, it can be a goodbye message, a sweet reminder, a warning, or a threat. My understanding of care has changed over time with my understanding of disability and disabled care, especially outside of existing systems.
With these ideas in mind, I invite folx around so-called âSeattleâ to join me for ingat ka: a f*n-d*R
@i -s-*r for disabled bipoc on Sunday, April 5 at 12-4pm in Filipinotown, Chinatown-International District. We will be evenly splitting contributions from this event to 5 disabled BIPOC (including myself) for basic needs like food and housing or shelter. Please also feel free to give directly!!!
For everyoneâs safety: This event will require respirators or high filtration masks (KN94 or better) for anyone able to wear one. A limited supply of free masks will be provided, thanks to
@maskblocseattle The studio has a HEPA air purifier.
