Marking a major moment for New York City’s arts and culture landscape, Neue Galerie and the Metropolitan Museum of Art announced they will merge in 2028. Ronald S. Lauder, the founder of the Neue Galerie, and his daughter, Aerin Lauder Zinterhofer, plan to make a substantial gift for the long term care of the collection. The Neue Galerie will be renamed the Met Ronald S. Lauder Neue Galerie and referred to as the Met Neue Galerie. Plans for the operational structure of the Met Neue Galerie are still being discussed, including what this merger will mean for the museum’s founding director, Renée Price. Featured here is “Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I,” which Lauder purchased for $135 million and considers “the museum’s Mona Lisa,” (New York Times).

“Really look to your cohorts in the field who can be your friends and your supporters, because they will be with you throughout your career.” — Lowery Stokes Sims, 2008, as part of ArtTable’s 30th Anniversary Oral History Project Mentorship has always been at the heart of ArtTable. Our mission is rooted in supporting one another’s careers and advancing leadership in the visual arts. The connections we build are what propel us forward—offering guidance, encouragement, and lasting community throughout every stage of our careers. Over the years, mentorship at ArtTable has taken many forms: through networking, professional development programs, and dedicated mentorship initiatives. Now, with the launch of Table for Two, we’re expanding that support even further. Table for Two offers personalized 1:1 mentorship that adapts to your goals, interests, and availability—meeting you where you are and helping you grow in the ways that matter most. Interested in deeper mentorship support? Learn more and apply through the link in our bio. Photos from ArtTable Programs throughout the years.

What does ArtTable mean to you? In this archival video from our 25 year anniversary, ArtTable members reflect on the community, mentorship, inspiration, and lasting connections they’ve found through our organization over the years. Their words are a reminder of what ArtTable stands for, and that our community always comes together to support and uplift our peers in the visual arts. We’re proud to share these voices from our history and celebrate the network that continues to shape ArtTable today. ArtTable’s work is powered by community. As we approach the close of our fiscal year, we’re working to close a funding gap to ensure we can continue supporting mentorship, leadership, and connection across the visual arts. If ArtTable has impacted you—or if you believe in this work—we invite you to be part of what comes next. Make a donation on our website or at the link in our bio. #ArtTable #WomenInArts #ArtsLeadership

Visit "Ceija Stojka: Making Visible" at the Drawing Center before it closes June 7. This exhibition features the work of Roma artist, activist, writer, lyricist, and singer Ceija Stojka (1933-2013). Comprising more than sixty artworks, as well as a selection of sketchbooks, archival material, and documentary films made during Stojka’s lifetime, "Making Visible" explores the fullness of Stojka’s production as a visual artist, centered in her Roma life and heritage. Spurred by the resurgence of extreme right nationalism in Austria and abroad, and by her experiences as a Holocaust survivor, Stojka created works of profound beauty and horror that resonate today in strikingly contemporary terms. We are excited to announce a new partnership with @bubbys ! Ron Silver’s solo exhibition “New York Interior” is now on view at Bubby’s in Tribeca, New York, through November 30, 2026. The show brings together a series of figure studies rooted in Silver’s long practice of observing and capturing the human presence in everyday New York life. Painted in his studio, the works are quiet, direct, and deeply personal. As part of the exhibition, 10% of the proceeds from every artwork sold will be donated to ArtTable in support of leadership in the visual arts. “New York Interior” is open to the public during Bubby’s regular hours at 120 Hudson Street, Tribeca. We had a great time last week at our MeetAT at NCO Gallery in Washington, D.C.! NCO Gallery, located in Blagden Alley, is a contemporary art space presenting international works with a strong emphasis on Cuban artists. The gallery was founded and is directed by Natalie O’Connor, a gallerist and curator whose work centers on cross-cultural exchange and introducing artists from developing regions to U.S. audiences. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this special evening.
