Tangential Futures & Emerging Crossroads
A collaboration between Artropolis Guild @_riiyo__ , @tbuzz.gram , @philosx3 , @kwey_ , @awamally & the @walkerartcenter
Over the past few months, we’ve been in creative dialogue, using water as our muse to uncover how it connects, mirrors and witnesses our co-evolution.
𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒅𝒐𝒆𝒔 𝒊𝒕 𝒎𝒆𝒂𝒏 𝒕𝒐 𝒓𝒆𝒍𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒘𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒓?
This three-part symposium flows at the edge of art, play and collective remembering. We invite you to come explore water’s many expressions through film, sound, theater, waterbending workshops, and live dialogue.

I am pleased to have curated and produced the first installation of Artropolis Soirées with Riiyo. We intend to create a congregation to sit together, share meals, and exchange ideas. Years ago, as a young emerging artist in Minneapolis, I desired to be in rooms like this one, so I’m honored to be in a position to create these rooms—to host Black and Native artists challenging paradigms and moving the pin.
This first installation was in collaboration with the @walkerartcenter and is the inception of our ongoing series of projects; more to come on this!
Thank you to @resource_mpls for allowing us to take up space.
We’re excited to announce that Artropolis is a recipient of the Midway Contemporary Art’s Visual Arts Fund with funding from The Andy Warhol Foundation.
It means a lot to have the honor of holding space for the community and have support to do so!
We’re looking forward to sharing some of this year’s programming with you soon!

This activity is funded, in part, by an appropriation from the Minnesota State Legislature with money from the State’s general fund.
The Belwin Conservancy is offering day-long retreats at the Savanna Center Building #2 in Afton, MN to culture bearers & organisers. Minneapolis has been the epicentre of resistance the last few weeks and we hope this retreat will serve as a place of sanctuary- to slow, process, be in nature & breathe again.
All information about the space, amenities, and how to fill out the form is in the link in our bio.
Artropolis will be supporting this initiative with transportation stipends for 4 groups/individuals. Once you have reserved your time at Belwin, please DM Artropolis with your confirmation and we’ll send the funds your way.
Since parking is limited and the space can accommodate 4 people, carpooling is strongly encouraged.
Please share this with those you believe need it the most and comment or DM us with any questions you might have.
Our prayers go out to the families & communities affected by this attack on our lives, and our state.

Over the past 9 months, I’ve led curation with the @artropolis.world Guild in collaboration with the @walkerartcenter — transforming and reimagining the spaces where we gather to share in our creative expressions, slow down, connect, and play.
As a Black young adult coming up in the Minneapolis art scene, I remember sneaking in photoshoots behind the Walker building, dodging security cameras. Now, I find myself leading the proceedings inside those very rooms — a testament to how far this journey has brought me.
This collaboration has seen Artropolis invite and platform numerous Black and Indigenous Twin Cities artists to contribute and take up space, which is one of our grandest intentions.
Our inquiry remains the same as we continue: how can we envision generative futures with our collective stewardship where every voice matters?
This Thursday marks our final offering of the summer at the Walker. Hope to see you there!
Being a part of the @artropolis.world Guild and co creating this series with my people has been one of the most fulfilling parts of my summer.
We carved out space for folks to slow down, connect, play, reimagine. Grateful to everyone who showed up, shared energy, and helped bring this vision to life.
Big love to my family @tbuzz.gram & @_riiyo__ for bringing me on board!
This Thursday we have our final offering of the summer.
We got live sets from @papambye_ & @heyarlo_ , DJ sets from me & @awamally on the rooftop + more!
