Es tracta d’un audiovisual creat amb eines científiques i física de fluids per capturar la caiguda de l’aigua, que s’eleva com en el llenguatge dels somnis, oposant-se a les lleis newtonianes mitjançant algoritmes renderitzats en temps real.

We are thrilled to announce our latest collaboration with artist Jaime de los Ríos and Arteko Gallery! Presenting ‘On the Problem of Form’, a selection of artworks from the artist’s solo show currently on view at the gallery in Donostia/ San Sebastián until Sept. 30th
Jaime de los Ríos explores the connections between pictorial expression and algorithmic creation by questioning the boundaries of form. Abstract compositions based on problems of trigonometry or inspired by Impressionist painting have been created with programming code and a drawing robot manufactured by the artist to produce a series of works on paper.
De los Ríos consciously takes his work to the liminal space between spontaneous inspiration and mathematical calculation, highlighting the inner tensions in all forms of digital art. Looking, as Wassily Kandinsky would put it, for “the true soul of creation,” he finds an unexpected balance between what would be considered opposites and invites the viewer to a new perception of artistic creation as simultaneously human and machinic.

Jaime de los Ríos utiliza en El problema de la forma los elementos primarios de la geometría para construir un universo matemático y poético. El artista donostiarra retira de los problemas de trigonometría, dibujo técnico y matemáticas, todo elemento semántico, el enunciado de los mismos y la identificación de sus componentes, y así los libera del problema: maleando, arrugando y haciéndolo volar.
