𝙰𝚛𝚛𝚘𝚗 𝚂𝚊𝚗𝚜

…15 YEARS AGO! I just shared a reel about how it gets harder to make music after you turn 30 because of responsibility. Then I realised I was 30 when I wrote this song, about ‘not being a slave to the machine’ and when me and some pals (Call Me Animal) decided to hit the streets to celebrate that freedom we enjoyed, we were proving to ourselves then that our age was irrelevant. Dare I say so myself, we made a great impression and really inspired the people we met along the way. In turn they inspired us. And after that experience a few more have generated great memories too! Now at 45 (this year) I do actually feel that weight of responsibility a lot more. But does it have to stop the fire!? How can it when that fire still burns bright!? Well, I haven’t written a song in 2 years! Crazy considering I was writing at least 1 idea a week! But I hit a wall. Realised that I wasn’t writing the music I wanted to, inspiring and hopeful! I think it was a wise decision, because I started finding myself hating more and had a real bitter taste in my mouth for humanity and some of the behaviour I’d witnessed from people in this world. Including my own reactions to certain things. My advice for all who feel a fire in their gut… POUNCE! Do it now, while you can! That fire inside never goes out. Not till the bitter end. And let’s be completely honest with ourselves, all we truly have is ‘now’ and all we will ever really ‘take’ from this life are the memories! I’ve been busying myself writing a screenplay, but that urge to create and express myself musically is burning a hole again! Why not… 🔥 we’ll see… 🔥

It reminded me of this reel I recorded back in the summer and was gonna post it, but didn’t coz things have been strange these few months. I’ve really had to question my judge of character. As well as assess the expectations and pressures I put on myself. So, lots of deep change and as we all know, change can be painful even if necessary. I’ve been quiet on here creatively and only really posted whenever the outrage I felt towards the sheer lack of humanity became too overwhelming. As an empath I feel a lot of pain for everyone on all sides of the fence. But I struggle to stay on a fence, even if it’s ‘none of my business’. Bloodshed is made to seem necessary and almost seen as justice. But I feel that all it does is prolong the pain. All I see is that it disrespects the history we all share a duty of care to learn from, not repeat. I remind myself every day that Love is hard work. Hate is easy. Anyways, just sharing, coz I’ve taken time to reflect and reset my priorities and for those who are interested in the musical journey I’m on… I am excited to say that I’m working on a project (Not Sans) with a couple of incredible musicians and we’ve got some ace songs we’re working on and looking forward to sharing. 🥳 Soon enough. And from the Sans pov, it’s back to solo town with that, but new music will come slow and steady 💚 if you follow me just for the music and expect more from me, I’m sorry, but life’s not fair, so either get over it or unfollow. 💪😘

SANDWICHES… What’s your favourite sandwich? I’m 100% voting Green today 💚 I’m lucky enough to be in an area where I can vote with my heart. So that’s what I’m doing. Wouldn’t it be great if we could all vote with our hearts and didn’t have to vote tactically in order to replace one filthy corrupt and insidious filling for another just as morally bankrupt filling!? Some people believe that it doesn’t matter who you vote for, they’re all as bad as the other. I can understand why. Basically we’re all at the merci of corporations and the filthy rich! But what voting does, at the very least, is let them know what people think and feel. So every vote adds up, every vote counts in some way. Even if that is literally just showing those greedy f**kers what we will and we won’t stand for. They know we’ve got the numbers. They know if it got physical then they’d be the minority. So voting can reveal just how far they can push it. I won’t vote for Starmer. I don’t trust him. People think Blair was a saint. Starmer’s just another Blair. People want change, but they don’t always vote for it coz it’s only ever pushed as blue or red. When will we vote for real change?? SOME PEOPLE… Some people, no wait, there are 8 Billion people on the planet, so scrap ‘some’! 99.99% of people on this planet are probably going to think you’re crazy for doing the things you do. I am no exception! In a couple of months, me and the guys will be recording the third Arron Sans album. But there may be a twist or two with this one… As a songwriter, as a musician, as an artist, the music business is pretty fickle, you need a bit of a thick skin. Which I don’t think I truly had before, but like the callouses on the fingers from hours of guitar, given time, the skin thickens. Maybe it’s coz I’m older now, maybe I just don’t give a shit about the industry or ‘making it’ like I once did!? Or maybe I’m actually just content with the music I’m creating these days. And I’m just enjoying getting the fook on with it. NO SHANE NO SHAME… After 5 years away from the gym, I finally started up again last week. I’ve been somewhat of a gym bunny since I was 18yo and only really slacked off twice, the first time I got a gut it drove me to ‘six-pack life’ at 36yo I thought ‘what an achievement!’ But I realised I was actually so unhappy with the lack of effort I’d made in my own musical development, so I quit the gym to save money & time and dedicated myself to my craft. D.I.Y. is the current peak of that and I have to admit, at 42yo it feels so much better than having a six pack! 🧡I am incredibly proud of it. So much so that I’m now pushing myself hard to create another in Album3 !?! 💚 However, the cruel bastard that is ‘time’ creeps up on you and health wise, I really need to get myself in better shape again. I’m gonna do my best to make it fit in with the new record.
