I try to share only things that I hope inspire, spark joy, and creativity, but realizing that sometimes our industry needs to share the truth of life.
Grief has a funny way of sneaking up on you throughout the day to day. One moment you are talking about napkin samples and chasing your 1 year old around the beach and the next you get struck with a wave of emotion.
We started this year thinking we would be welcoming baby number 2 in August. Having a baby mid season is not what I would say was ideal but I’m a big believer in being able to grow a business and your family simultaneously, with the best support and community of course. As we mapped out what that would look like, we sadly lost our lil bub at 12 weeks.
I found myself struggling to show up for my clients with joy and excitement while also giving myself the ability to process and grieve. I think anytime there is loss, there’s a sense of confusion. A sense of loneliness. But with this chapter also brought great appreciation.
It was a reminder of how important it is on those you choose to surround yourself with; family, community, clients. The beauty of support and community is not just during the growth and accomplishments of life but is especially important during the times your cup feels empty and life feels heavier.
It also is a beautiful reflection of how we truly don’t know what someone might be going through. So show up with love, give kindness to those who may not ask for it, and never ever think you are alone. I found so much comfort in prayer, my friends & family, as well as doing what I truly love to do.
