@victorbortiz_architecture ‘s exciting new design! “Designed with “air flow” as the main conceptual driver, this is the first building in a two-part development that focuses on enhancing athletic performance stemming from atmospheric and oxygenation impact research. The space hosts a series of programs and facilities for high-altitude training and conditioning tailored for extreme sports. As with several of our projects, we have chosen Cross Laminated Timber as our main structural material, and insulated wood panels and glass for better thermal control. The building is fully integrated with its surrounding landscape, creating it a walkable/skiable building in which people are able to use it as an extension of the mountain. Sport is always a great passion of ours, and being able to envision and develop these spaces that foment growth and push the limits of what an athlete-centered space can be is truly a pleasure. •Render by @victorbortiz_architecture • •ArqBit Thoughts• Designed by @victorbortiz_architecture for a very special client, this coastal Malibu residence was carefully conceived to be a guest house and entertainment area. Built around an astonishing tree, the project envelops the surrounding landscape and integrates the built environment with it. The sinuous roof creates shade where necessary and brings natural light inside through skylights. The interior was designed to feel peaceful and to take advantage of the incredible ocean views. Light wood and natural stone are placed all throughout the house, both on the built in casework as well as on custom designed furniture. Several pieces of bespoke chairs and coffee tables were created specifically for this house, resulting in a seamless work of architecture and design.
