The Vandit just got one of my favorite upgrades yet. The team at @hidprojectors built me a completely custom set of headlights, and they turned out even better than I imagined. Not only do they dramatically improve nighttime visibility, but they also feature the iconic Firebird logo etched right into the projector lenses. And if that wasn’t cool enough, they have built-in halo rings that glow at night and give the van an unmistakable look. It’s the perfect blend of function and style, better light output and a serious wow factor every time the sun goes down. I absolutely love how these turned out. Ten years ago, I set off on my very first @goldrushrally and I had no idea just how much it would change my life. We brought an @amsperformance Twin Turbo Lamborghini Huracán transformed into a full-on Talladega Nights tribute complete with a Fig Newtons sticker across the windshield. Ricky Bobby and Cal Naughton Jr. came to life with @drivewire and me staying in character the entire rally. And when I say the entire rally, I mean even after the driving was done for the day. We wore Dennit Racing polos, Wranglers, and cowboy boots everywhere we went. That year, we were honored to win Best Representation of GoldRush Rally, but the real prize was something much bigger. At the time, I was going through a difficult chapter in my life, and this rally became a major turning point. It introduced me to an incredible community and led to friendships that are still some of the strongest in my life today. One thing that keeps replaying in my head is how much @kyle_1320video genuinely supported his friends. Kyle played a major role in our very first Cannonball record run in 2019. We had no support in Nebraska so I called the only person I knew who lived there, Kyle. Not only did he jump at the chance to scout for us, he made a sign for his back window to encourage us as we would pass by that read “<28:50 OR BUST” which was the record time we were chasing. He would then be glued to our live video stream (yes, that actually happened) and stayed up all night until we reached the Portofino Inn in California. But that was Kyle. He didn’t just cheer people on from the sidelines. He got involved. He believed in people. He wanted to help his friends succeed. He also connected us with an entire network of his friends across Nebraska to help scout for this and future runs. That kind of loyalty and willingness to help people is rare. Kyle built an incredible brand and made a massive impact on the automotive world, but more importantly, he was the kind of friend who showed up for people. I’m absolutely devastated to hear about the passing of my dear friend Kyle Loftis. 💔 Kyle was one of those people who left an impression everywhere he went. He had an infectious smile, an incredible, larger than life personality and a way of making everyone around him feel like family. He played a major role in my early Cannonball efforts, scouting for me on our first record run and helping connect me with an entire network of scouts across Nebraska. He was always willing to help, always excited to be part of something bigger, and always passionate about the people around him. Beyond that, Kyle built a massive brand around what he genuinely loved to do. The positive impact he had on the automotive world and the people in it can’t be overstated. Any time I was passing through Omaha, I’d make it a point to stop and visit him. Those conversations and memories mean even more to me now. Rest easy, brother.
