It’s been a dream to share the stories of our amazing partners and what they achieve in just 16 weeks with ARK Feed Back. Thank you @voguephilippines for giving us the stage this Earth Month. “In #Sorsogon, the relationship between land and life is visible everywhere, from backyard gardens to open-air markets, where harvests move from one pair of hands to another. @ARK.Solves founder Ayesha Vera-Yu adds, “We all have that sharing in our DNA.” The ARK Feed Back program is a community initiative that celebrates the rhythm that was shaped by being in tune with the land, the communities, and with each other. The principles of malasakit and kapwa are rooted in our history of sharing harvests. Against Sorsogon’s diverse landscapes, model #MariaIsabelaGaleria carries produce fresh from the ARK community gardens, in woven hats and baskets, the same bounty that sustains families across the region. In this story, farm and fashion exist in one narrative: of bounty, of community, and commitment. The April 2026 issue is now available on shop.vogue.ph and on newsstands. ARK’s Feed Back program emerged in 2020, but its philosophy reaches further back, to founder Ayesha Vera-Yu’s memory of her grandfather's stories. In the province, their neighbors would help with the harvest, and afterward the yield would be shared among them. “In his mind, it was just the right thing to do,” she says. “If the community helped bring the harvest in, then the harvest belonged to the community.” See the last word and full feature in the April 2026 Issue of Vogue Philippines, available on shop.vogue.ph and on newsstands. ARK partners with Grab and Move It rider partners to bring ARK Feed Back in urban communities! ARK Feed Back is a vegetable exchange program, where participants bring 3 kinds of vegetables to barter with others for a chance to bring home 20+ varieties of fresh produce. Through this program, rider partners are encouraged to grow their own vegetables, transforming their backyards, empty lots, rooftops, and even small spaces in their front yards into thriving urban gardens!

Before colonization, food systems in the Philippines were based on exchange and community. Fish was traded for rice, root crops for salt, and harvests were shared across villages. Spanish rule disrupted this way of my life, reshaping agriculture into export-driven monocropping. It’s a shift that @ARK.Solves founder Ayesha Vera-Yu has witnessed firsthand while restructuring her family’s farm in Capiz. “It’s a systematic issue that was unsustainable,” she explains. “Monocropping, a legacy of our colonized past, and chemical farming has put families in deep debt with little income.” ARK’s Feed Back model draws from that earlier, communal way of living. Over 16 weeks, families begin with four to six weeks of planting, followed by ongoing exchanges that encourage them to grow and sustain their harvests. At the center of this month's cover story is model @MariaIsabelaGaleria , whose family heritage traces back to #Sorsogon. For her, the setting is a return to her roots, and an acknowledgment of a place where memory and land remain closely intertwined. Carrying with produce fresh from ARK's backyard gardens in her arms, Galeria wears relaxed, draped pieces paired with sculptural volume: textures woven, or printed or embroidered over by Filipino artisans. They are reminders that fashion, like food, exists within larger systems of exchange. Read the full story at the link in our bio. Currently in its 11th wave, @ARK.Solves ' Feed Back program has now reached 123 communities all over the Philippines, empowering families to grow their own food and share the bounty. The initiative emerged in 2020 during the pandemic, when acute hunger deepened across the country. But the philosophy behind it traces further back; its model is rooted in our history, when pre-colonial communities bartered fish for rice, root crops for salt, and produce was communal. Reflecting on it now, ARK co-founder Ayesha Vera-Yu explains, “I think it’s easy for all the communities to adopt Feed Back because at the root of it, it’s sharing, it’s a collective barter.” For generations, Filipinos have shared harvests with one another. So when the program arrives in a new community, it doesn’t feel foreign. “Because I think we all have that sharing in our DNA. That’s what we’re supposed to be. We shared our abundance and our wealth with each other.” Read more at the link in our bio. The April 2026 issue is now available on shop.vogue.ph and on newsstands. In #Sorsogon, care is a first language, as seen in its harvests: bundles of leafy greens, and mounds of root vegetables pulled fresh from the earth and fruit, grown in backyard gardens to be passed from one family to another. This system of care is in place through the work of @ARK.Solves and its 16-week vegetable exchange known as Feed Back, a leading food security solution which operates across parts of Sorsogon among 123 communities all over the Philippines. But its model also has roots in our pre-colonial history, when food moved horizontally and communities gathered to celebrate what the soil provides. Joel Furio, a spearfisher, father, and graduate of the Feed Back program, offers the Bicolano word for it. “Ang tawag namin diyan, nagmamakulog [That’s what we call it here, care],” he says. “Mas naramdaman namin ang malasakit, ibig sabihin, may concern at paki alam sa isa’t isa [we feel compassion, meaning we show concern and care for each other].” At the center of this fashion story are the elements that come directly from the community, threads that form the spirit of care that precedes and sustains it all.
