The internet usually seems like it encourages us to show the beautiful moments, the wins and the achievements but if we look away from the screen for a second, we immediately realize that It doesn’t look as glamorous and photogenic around us. We actually start noticing how sometimes things can be negative and ugly without filters on them. We realize that we’re not actually making fun of hurtful moments in real time, but we might start crying instead. We actually realize that people have insecurities and that’s why some people always wear a t-shirt at the pool or why they edit all of their photos with Facetune. Or that we actually go through lots of inevitable pain and suffering just because we’re human. Or that we actually don’t perform that well at certain things like that math test or that pregnancy test. It’s harder and uglier, so we quickly turn the screen back on. So much comfort and control all in our hands. Why would we ever want to look away?
ME FOR @bergie.giorgiandreazza by the incredible @centodiciassette
THE MORE TIME I SPEND ON DOING WHAT I LOVE I REALIZE THAT MY FAVORITE THING IS JUST WORKING WITH PEOPLE I LOOK UP TO AND THAT I’M INSPIRED BY. I’M SO GRATEFUL THAT THANKS TO @shotbymo_ I GOT THE AMAZING OPPORTUNITY TO MEET @centodiciassette ONE OF MY FAVORITE DESIGNERS OUT OF MILAN AND A SUPER SWEET AND INCREDIBLY TALENTED PERSON. JUST BEING ABLE TO CAPTURE HER ART REMINDED ME OF SOMETHING THAT I HAVEN’T THOUGHT ABOUT IN A WHILE; THAT SOMETIMES EVEN MAKING SOMETHING SIMPLE AND JUST OBSERVING ART YOU LIKE AND SIMPLY SHOWING HOW YOU PERCEIVE IT, IS ART. SOMETIMES I FEEL PRESSURED TO ESTABLISH WHAT MAKES MY ART MINE AND WHY IT’S DIFFERENT FROM OTHER ART AS IF I’M SUPPOSED TO SAY IT, TO QUICKLY BE REMINDED BY MOMENTS LIKE THIS THAT MY ART IS SIMPLY MY POINT OF VIEW.
PANDORA/EVE ENJOYING THE FRUIT, 2025
WE OFTEN CAUSE THE GREATEST HARM TO OURSELVES WITHOUT EVEN BEING FULLY AWARE OF IT, BUT THE THINGS WE RUN AWAY FROM IN FEAR ARE EXACTLY WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR.
SPECIAL THANKS TO @spaziokoch AND @moopstoots FOR ASSISTING ME WITH THE CREATION OF THIS PIECE
