How blessed I’m to be part of this #ariacne #ariacnetrujillo #ariacnetrujillodurand

NJCU Latín Orchestra at their Final concert So happy and proud of my student who did such of great job leaning different Latin styles and putting all together. Yes,I only have a biological child, but I feel that life gave me many children and I’m so blessed to be able to share and make them see and feel the music the same way I do. Love you all and I’m gonna miss so many of you. @njcu.mdt@jazz.njcu
ATTENTION NEW YORK! I am so excited to announce that next week, on May 14th, my band SonAhead will be closing the Bryant Park Dance Party with a very exciting performance. Three amazing and talented young Cuban artists will be joining us for an evening that promises to be unforgettable: @ivanllanesmusic , @ginadsoto and @ariacnetd . I feel really honored and grateful for this incredible opportunity, and I want to thank @taliacp for the invitation and for trusting us to be the closing act of this great event that is celebrating 10 years already. Gracias Talia por la confianza, eternamente agradecido. We will start at 8:50pm but before us, the great Pepito Gómez and his new orchestra will be performing as well.
I i hope to see all my dancers friends there. I guarantee a really fun night full of music and dancing nonstop!
Rueda Flashmob at American Tobacco Campus, Durham NC. March 28, 2026
Check it out on YouTube: https://youtu.be/8r9YM23UJEw?si=o0x35bovqb_VfKzI
So proud of and grateful to this community of dancers with 10 weeks to decades of experience 🌟 We had one rehearsal for this flashmob showcasing a few skills and concepts from the past session of classes at @ninthstreetdancestudio : concentric ruedas, active follows, pa’ fuera, switch, and of course partner dancing… (Please tag anyone I missed! 🤓)
Loved creating and rehearsing this simple choreography to @ariacnetd ‘s “Te Equivocaste” 🎶 … cuando vienes a Carolina del Norte a tocar con tu grupo Ari querida?? 💖🤩
Wearing the colors of the Cuban flag 🇨🇺 and dancing rueda in a North American space also reminds me of the privilege and responsibility of representing Cuban culture outside the island, now more than ever with the reign of starvation being inflicted by the inhumane, greedy, and stupid policies of this nation’s administration. As we celebrate the richness of Cuban culture, let’s connect with Cubans in our communities and actively strive to be better neighbors locally and globally 🙏🏼
Next session starts 4/10… sign up, see you there! 🥳

From Havana’s classical halls to the vibrant pulse of New York’s Latin jazz scene, Ariacne Trujillo’s journey is one of resilience, reinvention, and artistic discovery.
In this exclusive Take Five interview, the Cuban-born pianist, vocalist, and composer reflects on her early struggles as a newcomer in New York after arriving on a short-term scholarship—navigating isolation, financial hardship, and a rapidly shifting musical identity. Trujillo shares how her deep classical training, rooted in Bach and the Russian piano tradition, became the foundation for her distinctive Afro-Cuban Latin jazz voice.
She also opens up about the organic evolution of her sound, shaped by collaborations, cultural expectations, and the cosmopolitan energy of New York. From performing with legends to teaching the next generation at NYU, Trujillo reveals what it means to find—and own—your artistic voice.
Fresh off a dynamic performance in Costa Rica, she discusses the importance of musical chemistry, the joy of connecting with audiences, and her upcoming project revisiting compositions from her youth.
A powerful conversation with one of today’s most compelling Latin jazz artists—honest, insightful, and deeply inspiring.
