Construction has started on UNE Tamworth Central Campus – a significant milestone for the regional community.
Working with the @Uninewengland , @North_Construction , this project acts as a catalyst for community – its pedestrian-first plan supports contemporary pedagogy and town-centre activation.
Early, collaborative engagement with UNE, council and stakeholders grounded each decision in operational needs and local identity infused with Country.

The biggest lesson from O Pavilion is that, 'sustainability is strongest when it operates across multiple scales at once - Country, building performance, structure and material systems,' says Nick Elias, Senior Associate.
Stitched into an existing campus, the pavilion strengthens the social heart of Optus at Macquarie Park. While modest in scale, its impact is multifaceted.
▪️Mass timber was selected for its low embodied carbon and prefabrication methodology to reduce building waste.
▪️Rainwater run-off is directed into the bioswales and rain gardens.
▪️Deep eaves and verandah spaces passively mitigate direct sun.
▪️First Nations knowledge drove the spatial and structural decisions, creating a grounded and open space.

Meet Saran. Saran is an architect in our Melbourne studio who has been with us since she was a student.
A key contributor to our Education team, she also manages to run our in-house library, spearhead our model making efforts and plays a major role in our sustainability leadership group.
One step closer to realisation, construction has commenced on @UNSW Sydney’s G25 Education Building following a sod turn and smoking ceremony.
The new 12-storey building will stand as a flagship vertical campus hosting a range of indoor and outdoor learning spaces centred around student wellbeing.
The building’s form responds thoughtfully to its context while its façade adapts to light, view and function. An open and inviting ground plane seamlessly connects the public domain with interior spaces, enhancing connectivity, safety and the campus experience.
Collaborating with the local Indigenous community, facilitated by @Yerrabingin , our team designed a building that embodies inclusivity and genuine cultural respect.

Congratulations to our Interiors team who have been shortlisted in the 2026 Australian Interior Design Awards for #Workplace Design.
When designers get a chance to design their own studio, it's an opportunity to reflect on the values that drive the practice - our Brisbane Studio was no exception.
The office was imagined as a place to collaborate, but also educate clients on the sustainable, low carbon future we’re all trying to build.
Thank you to the judges, congratulations to the shortlisted entrants and good luck.

If you're lucky, you won't have spent long periods of time in a hospital waiting room.
They're a microcosm of human emotion - often stressful, sometimes joyous and always with the constant steady hum of staff working around the clock to care for patients.
The design of Peninsula Hospital works hard to let nature be a partner in the healing journey. With views to water, landscaped terraces and biophilic materials - it's not just patients who benefit, but staff too.

“We have no choice. It needs to change.”
Architectus Principal Rebecca Daff wants to disrupt the cycle of waste in the design and construct industries. A specialist in workplace, Daff says design ego is just one barrier we need to breakthrough in the process – since designers often envision design work on a clean slate.
Outsiders to the design and construction industry may be appalled to learn that much of that fitout ends up in landfill – time and time (and time) again.
A few statistics bring this picture clearly into focus: 40% of the world’s waste comes from the construction industry, which generates 141kg of waste for every square metre built.
Read on to see how Rebecca and her team are pushing for more circular outcomes using their project 242 Exhibition Street as a case study.
