Disney’s Contemporary Resort, designed by Welton Becket and completed in 1971, is a hotel complex located at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. The project is recognized for its large-scale A-frame concrete structure and integrated monorail system. The building is organized around a monumental reinforced concrete frame that houses guestrooms as prefabricated modules inserted into the structure. This system reduced construction time while establishing a clear expression of structure and assembly. The central atrium functions as a large interior public space, where circulation, retail, and communal areas are organized vertically beneath the exposed frame. The resort operates through megastructure principles, combining infrastructure, hospitality, and transportation within a single architectural system. © Disney 📍 Orlando, United States #ArchitectureLab #ContemporaryResort #WeltonBecket #BrutalistArchitecture #ConcreteArchitecture #Megastructure #ModernArchitecture

Brutalist Car Garage, designed by Peter Kunz Architektur, is a private automotive storage space located in Switzerland. The project explores the relationship between exposed concrete structure and vehicle display. The garage is defined by monolithic concrete surfaces, minimal detailing, and controlled lighting conditions that emphasize material texture and spatial depth. Structural walls and slabs remain fully exposed, allowing the construction system to shape the atmosphere directly. Large openings and carefully framed views connect the interior to the surrounding landscape while maintaining the enclosure required for storage and exhibition. The project operates through mass, proportion, and material permanence. © Peter Kunz Architektur 📍 Switzerland #ArchitectureLab #PeterKunzArchitektur #BrutalistArchitecture #ConcreteArchitecture #GarageDesign #SwissArchitecture #ExposedConcrete

Camp O House, designed by María Milans Studio and completed in 2019, is a residential project located in Claryville, United States. The house is positioned within a wooded landscape, emphasizing enclosure, material warmth, and connection to nature. The project is organized through compact volumes and open transitional spaces that frame views of the surrounding forest. Timber surfaces and restrained detailing establish a consistent material language, while large openings bring daylight deep into the interior and extend living spaces toward the exterior. The architecture operates through simplicity and environmental integration, where structure, landscape, and domestic use remain closely connected. © @mariamilansstudio ; @montse.zamorano 📍 Claryville, United States #ArchitectureLab #MariaMilansStudio #CampOHouse #ResidentialArchitecture #TimberArchitecture #CabinDesign #AmericanArchitecture

Concrete 3D printing process developed by @rupp_gebaeudedruck in collaboration with @peri_3d_construction , demonstrating the layered extrusion of concrete without conventional formwork. The wall is produced through additive manufacturing, where material is deposited in controlled horizontal layers directly from a digital model. The process reduces waste, minimizes manual labor, and allows precise control over geometry and construction sequencing. The visible stratification of the concrete records the printing process itself, transforming fabrication into surface expression. © @korte_hoffmann_gruppe ; @rupp_gebaeudedruck ; @peri3dconstruction 📍 Germany #ArchitectureLab #3DPrinting #ConcretePrinting #DigitalFabrication #AdditiveManufacturing #ConstructionTechnology #ConcreteArchitecture

ING-SUK House, designed by Yangnar Studio and completed in 2022, is a residential project located in Nam Phrae, Thailand. The house explores the relationship between timber construction, climate, and open domestic space. The building is organized through elevated volumes and covered transitional areas that promote airflow and shaded outdoor living. A lightweight structural system and natural materials reduce heat gain while allowing the house to remain visually connected to the surrounding landscape. Openings, terraces, and roof overhangs are arranged to balance ventilation, privacy, and daylight. The project operates through climatic adaptation and material restraint, where structure and environment remain closely linked. ©️ @yangnar_studio ; Rungkit Charoenwat 📍 Nam Phrae, Thailand #ArchitectureLab #YangnarStudio #INGSUKHouse #ThaiArchitecture #TimberArchitecture ClimateResponsive ResidentialDesign

Mansfield House, designed by Robbie Walker, is an off-grid residence located in Victoria, Australia. Positioned on an exposed hilltop, the project responds directly to harsh weather conditions through durable construction and restrained material use. The house is built with robust materials selected for longevity and low maintenance, allowing the structure to withstand strong wind, temperature variation, and long term exposure. Its compact form minimizes waste while improving thermal efficiency and environmental performance. Openings are carefully positioned to frame the surrounding landscape while controlling solar gain and exposure. The project operates through resilience, material honesty, and a direct relationship with climate and terrain. © Dave Kulesza 📍 Victoria, Australia #ArchitectureLab #RobbieWalker #MansfieldHouse #OffGridArchitecture #AustralianArchitecture #ResidentialDesign #ClimateResponsive

David Brownlow Theatre, designed by Tuckey Design Studio and completed in 2020, is a performance and educational building located in Berkshire, United Kingdom. The project reinterprets the traditional theatre typology through a restrained material palette and compact spatial organization. The building is defined by load bearing brick walls and a timber roof structure, combining permanence with warmth and acoustic performance. The theatre volume is expressed externally as a simple geometric form, while interior spaces prioritize intimacy between audience and stage. Natural light is carefully controlled through limited openings, reinforcing the contrast between circulation areas and the enclosed performance space. The project operates through material clarity, proportion, and structural simplicity. © @tuckeydesignstudio ; @buildingnarratives ; @clickclickjim 📍 Berkshire, United Kingdom #ArchitectureLab #TuckeyDesignStudio #TheatreArchitecture #BrickArchitecture #PerformanceSpace #BritishArchitecture #TimberStructure

MAXXI NXT Pavilion, designed by Grazzini Tonazzini Colombo and completed in 2024, is a temporary cultural structure located in Italy. The pavilion explores lightweight construction through modular assembly and open spatial organization. The project is defined by a clear structural framework that supports a permeable enclosure, allowing light, air, and movement to pass through the volume. Its geometry creates a sequence of transitional spaces that operate between interior and exterior conditions, supporting exhibitions, events, and public gatherings. Material selection and construction logic emphasize reversibility and adaptability, where the pavilion functions as a flexible architectural system rather than a fixed object. © @grazzinitonazzini 📍 Italy #ArchitectureLab #GrazziniTonazziniColombo #MAXXINXT #PavilionArchitecture #TemporaryArchitecture #CulturalArchitecture #ItalianArchitecture

Wulingshan Eye Stone Spring, designed by Vector Architects, is a hot spring pavilion located in the forests of Wuling Mountain, China. The project is conceived as a minimal intervention within a steep natural landscape. The bush hammered concrete structure is elevated above the terrain on ten slender columns, reducing direct impact on the site and preserving the existing ground condition. The enclosed bathing spaces are organized around the hot spring experience, with horizontal strip windows positioned just above water level to frame views of the surrounding cliffs and forest canopy. The project operates through suspension, enclosure, and controlled visual connection, where concrete mass and landscape remain in continuous dialogue. © @vectorarchitects ; @dailyliuguowei ; @tianfangfang2019 📍 Wuling Mountain, China #ArchitectureLab #VectorArchitects #HotSpringArchitecture #ConcreteArchitecture #LandscapeArchitecture #ChineseArchitecture #MinimalIntervention
