If you’re heading into town pop into Manchester library & experiment with sound! The listening desk contains samples and sounds from the Delia Derbyshire Archive and the Delia Derbyshire Day Archive. These archives live at John Rylands Library here in Manchester. I was thrilled to be asked to curate the sounds for this 🎧 Delia Derbyshire Day is a Mancheter based charity now in its 10th year, elevating the legacy of Delia Derbyshire as a catalyst for empowerment via creativity, heritage and technology. So far they have taught electronic music to 3300 children and provided work for 65 artists/creative professionals. Delia Derbyshire (1937-2001) was a brilliant electronic music pioneer. Her most famous work is her production of Ron Grainers Dr Who theme in 1963. #deliaderbyshireday #manchesterlibrary #carocsound

Today I want to celebrate my friends @futureverything — a forward-thinking cultural agency crafting new ways of living with technology for human and planetary flourishing. Imagining, researching and prototyping alternative futures, their work explores the interplay between ecological crises, cultural narratives, and technological acceleration. Organisations like FutureEverything are a priceless resource for artists and essential cultural infrastructure — needed now more than ever. I was recently lucky enough to be commissioned by FutureEverything, to develop and co-create a community art project in Stockport called Emotional Biodiversity. I was genuinely moved by how the process was supported by FutureEverything with such generosity — thoughtful conversations, real listening, and a belief in where the work might go. I felt met with care at every stage, not just as an artist, but as a person. Organisations like FutureEverything need sustained funding and public backing. Without them, artists lose the spaces where meaningful, long-term, experimental work can happen — and we all lose the cultural imagination that comes from it. Deep gratitude to the whole team at FutureEverything . Please support, follow, and any help them in anyway you can... @futureverything futureeverything.org #FutureEverything #SupportArtsOrganisations #FundTheArts #ArtistSupport #CulturalInfrastructure

Japan has been pure sensory overload in the best way 🇯🇵✨ Tokyo was crazy - neon chaos, nonstop energy that hits you from every direction. Kyoto slowed everything down - ancient temples, the most beautiful ceramics + fabrics, and we got the chance to try calligraphy & being a ninja 🥷🏻 What an incredible place. Heading to Osaka to seek out some Japanese noise music!

🌟Our very own AoR Howie Jacobs will be performing with this group of next level musicians on Monday @3rd Nov. This is not to be missed - it will be magnificent! Get yer tickets. Big Ideas presents large ensemble jazz, improvised, & experimental music performed by a rotating lineup of musicians based across the North of England.
