Perched on a dramatic hairpin turn of the Furka Pass, the Hotel Belvédère is easily one of the most iconic sights in the Swiss Alps. It opened back in 1882 and eventually became a legendary luxury stop during the Belle Époque, even landing a starring role in the 1964 James Bond movie Goldfinger. It officially closed its doors in 2015.
