Sharing a sketch from one of our projects working for The Archer Project in Sheffield. As part of Race Cottam Architects’ remodelling of the existing building located beneath Sheffield Cathedral.
The Archer Project is a charity that supports people experiencing homelessness and is a vital service in the heart of Sheffield. Their work makes a tangible difference as they support and empower people to progress away from a survival mindset.
Hortus Collective are working on the redesign of a small courtyard that will act as a new front of house space and a welcoming sanctuary for the charity and people that use its facilities.
The courtyard will offer a sense of safety, comfort and calm for people arriving directly from the streets as well as privacy and a homely scale that encourages them to stay and relax. The materials have been selected to be high quality and natural and the planting design creates a calm, lush and seasonal space appropriate to the shaded site.

Here’s my work Nostalgic Desire & photography I took at @friendsofwardsendcemetery up at the @sheff.artcultureclub exhibition at @kiac_studio :)) It was such a lovely environment & so cool to see what other members produced! Plus it was all for great causes!!
A brilliant evening for a brilliant cause!
Some members of the IPW Team had a wonderful evening supporting the Sheffield Archer Project charity and attending the 'Seeds for Change' Ball alongside Homes by Honey.
It was an inspiring and wonderful evening, seeing how the charity supports Sheffield's homeless community and Homes by Honey's dedication to the Archer Project.

I’m happy to announce, I’m going to be in the @sheff.artcultureclub ‘s Any Four Wall’s Exhibit at the @kiac_studio in Gage Gallery. With my ‘Nostalgic Desire’ Piece. It will be on April 18th (5pm Onwards) & 19th (All Day)
rough times for our exhibition this weekend! It's a gallery so the art will be up to peruse throughout our oppening times - we've got film, sculpture, painting, installation, interactive pieces...
but there's also some pop up music, poetry and workshops to entice you in through both days!
We'll be 'open' at KIAC (Kelham Island) on saturday from about 5 on with drinks, food and music (donations to local charities and the club) followed by a trip to the Alder next door
Then open again on Sunday with even more! 10-5ish
These are liable to change and not be on the dot! keep an eye on the story and if you're keen to make an event give yourself a bit of time - if there's delays you can spend them taking in the VAST amount of art
Can’t believe it’s been a whole week since our Build Social, Build Sheffield event where we came together as a community to advocate for more social homes in our city.
With local elections fast approaching, we wanted to ensure that housing is at the top of the council’s agenda. Sheffield has a proud history of fostering community through social housing, which we wanted to showcase through this event.
Thank you again to all those who helped to put this event together and to everyone who attended in support.
Stay tuned to what happens next for the Build Social, Build Sheffield campaign.

A team of 38 walkers have officially finished the Camino de Santiago! 28 of them were the Sheffield team who so far have raised over £45,000 for @cwnn_sheffield and @archerproject
The 101km 5 day trek took us from Vigo to Santiago de Compostela through woodland, hills, roads, beaches and fields.
It was a fantastic achievement and opportunity. Thank you everyone who sent donations and supported us. Your donations will enable Choir with No Name Sheffield to continue to flourish as a wonderful community for those affected by homelessness or marginalisation in Sheffield.
There’s still time to donate if you haven’t already. Visit the @choirwithnoname website or instagram to find out more.

Multiple trains, planes, and questionable directions later, the Sheffield Cathedral pilgrims are ready to start the Camino de Santiago, walking 100km to raise money for two amazing charities. Now the real journey begins. 💪
If you can, please support them and donate - every little bit helps and goes directly to two great causes- The Archer Project, and the Choir With No Name.
The Choir with No Name runs choirs and builds joyful singing communities with people impacted by homelessness and marginalisation, around the UK, while The Archer Project offers support to people experiencing all stages of homelessness in Sheffield and the wider region.
