The Happy Failure began with a pile of found photographs fused together by time, heat, and chemical reaction. To see a single image, I had to tear it apart—turning every act of viewing into an act of damage.
Rather than restoring these images, I worked with their deterioration. The fragments, stains, and absences became part of a new visual language—one that embraces incompleteness instead of correcting it.
Created during a period of anxiety and emotional fatigue, this project became a way of sitting with failure rather than escaping it.
This book also weaves in photographs of torn street posters—public surfaces shaped by time, neglect, and chance—expanding the dialogue between personal and collective memory.
The Happy Failure is not about fixing what is broken, but learning how to live with it—gently, and without resistance.
