How lucky are we to have a sole fisher supplying a few local restaurants. If you see Troy’s fish on a menu, you’re choosing some of the most sustainable, ethically caught fish in the country 🙌🏼

I finally have a photo with this extraordinary human 💛…and now you can see the thoughtful outfit Natasha, Michelle, Mandy and my mum put together for me for the Cuisine Magazine Women in Food & Drink NZ lunch.
The beloved Connie Clarkson...
I’m a smalltown farm girl who loves to nurture and feed people. In my big, beautiful blended whānau, if you can crawl, you can learn to cook. By the time I was working in my Aunty Lin’s lunch bar at 12, I’d already known for years that I wanted a restaurant 👩🏼🍳❤️
As a young food and beverage attendant, I was lucky enough to cross paths with Connie. She was considered the city's most generous and kind restaurant host in her French Cafe days, and was running dazzling events at the Hyatt. I remember wheeling an oven across the road to the park and thinking, 'this is the most exciting woman in the world'.
I assumed I was just a tiny blip on her radar. But she put me forward for my first big role in Auckland hospitality. When I said, “Connie, I don’t know how to do that,” she smiled her trademark smile and said:
“My darling girl, just tell them you can do it, then make #@% sure you can.”
That sentence defined my hospitality life.
It’s why I say yes to big charity events and bold projects.
It’s how this tiny business has helped raise so much for Marlborough charities.
It’s why the animal rescue legend Michelle Madsen and I believed we could rally a region to build the most beautiful animal shelter in the country.
Say yes, then work like hell to make it true… or, in my case, be blessed with a brilliant team and a generous Marlborough community always ready to jump in and help 🫶🏼✨
Thank you Connie. A brief moment of time in your life completely changed mine.

It takes a village 🫶🏼
I’ve been named one of Cuisine Magazine’s Most Inspirational Women in Food and Drink.
It feels really strange to post about myself, but this belongs to our region, our suppliers, our guests, and most of all, my work family. (Also, Natasha told me to do a post… and I do what she says 😉❤️)
While it may be my face smiling out of our favourite magazine, it’s our Marlborough community holding me up. Our loyal guests. Our growers, fishers and producers (including Top 50 listers Lucy and Skye of Middlehurst Station). The charities we create events for and volunteer for. Our local chef and restaurant peers. Our winery allies, family and friends.
I’m lucky to work alongside an extraordinary group of women. Natasha, who has helped me build a unique, kind and safe space for all; Sydney, who will always be family no matter where her wings take her; and our brilliant MGC girls, Elle and Hayley, who give far more to the guest experience than any roster could show.
Then two exceptional men: Bradley, the most capable chef-owner I know, whose flavours stop guests' mid-conversation, generosity that keeps locals returning while somehow keeping the books steady, and my boyfriend Benji, a sommelier whose vast hospitality experience threads through every part of our day and deep into our wine community.
Bradley’s fiancée Michelle grows and creates for our space. Coop jumps in during the holidays. Generous landlords, supportive neighbours, it truly takes a village ❤️
We're a team of small-town New Zealanders that prove excellence isn’t reserved for big cities.
Thank you, Cuisine Magazine. It’s an honour.
FULL AGAIN. Thank you H.A 🙌🏼🙏🏼❤️.
A unicorn of a table has popped up for this Saturday. Jump online and grab it! ❤️🍾🍷
Pic of Bradley's Charlie-cookie-donut-doggo to get your attention.
It's a privilege to pour from Sophie and Matt's cellar. We know great Marlborough wines are beautifully age-worthy… and yet we’re still bowled over when reminded 🙌🏼💛
