SYSTEMS
In the 2026 ABS Digital Art Prize exhibition, systems are not merely subjects, but operative frameworks — they generate images, structure value, regulate participation, or simulate behaviour.
A system may take many forms — from algorithmic procedures and generative grids to trained models, blockchain-based registries, financial or value-generating mechanisms, semiotic structures, or simulated environments.
Such systems may operate through rules, protocols, or combinatory structures; generate variation from modular elements; organize value and circulation; interpret and reconfigure language and symbols; or mediate interaction between human and machine.

Arab Bank Switzerland announces the Digital Art Prize 2026.
For the first time since its inception in 2023, the prize unfolds within a curated thematic exhibition.
Titled SYSTEMS, the exhibition takes place within the former Fábrica de Moagem in Lisbon, presented during @nonfungibleconference — an international summit at the intersection of digital culture, technology, and emerging infrastructures.
The site, a historically intact industrial flour mill, is shaped by processes of sequencing, regulation, and circulation — serving as both inspiration and setting.
More to follow.

Can metadata be poetic? 🌅
For his series SOL, generative artist @coryhaber searched for the exact angle of the sunrise in New York on every single day of the year, and then turned each one into a unique artwork. 365 sunrises, coded from real astronomical data.
Sol #164, part of our collection, captures one precise, unrepeatable moment where the natural world meets the digital one.
The full series famously sold out in 35 minutes.
Inspired by Andy Warhol’s sunset prints, Haber invites collectors to discover the metadata behind each piece and build their own relationship with it - a quiet challenge to how we find meaning in data, in art, and in the world around us.
