Vintage cotton coaster set
Lately, I have been working with a vintage cotton yarn bag found in an antique store. It was an enjoyable process, imagining what the previous owner may have created with these yarns.. ๐งต๐ชก
Raffia Trivet
Inspired by a Korean object called Ttoari (๋ฌ๋ฆฌ). Ttoari was traditionally used to help carry heavy items above our heads.
Re-imagined to use as a modern day trivet.
Madagascan raffia dyed in Australia.
Available from this Sunday at @onelessdecision
(Last two photos are from Sokcho city museum archive.)
I originally made this for my own use. Several experiments and tests until getting to the final design. I wanted something that would be long lasting, comfortable in the hand, and potential to make my kitchen look nicer.
Usage and daily beauty.
I will be showing some of my work at @thejeongstore popup this weekend.
The double coaster and the long tail bookmark in the images are created with silk waste yarn. Each bookmark is special with a different colour and shape, with sea elements, found on beaches in Sydney.
