I feel that everybody forgets that children are the future, and that to know one in such creative fashion would not be easily forgotten. I admit my first child should be a boy, but I know as yet I don't want children. I also feel that this video maybe remembered more easily if we keep in this caption to link and therefore describe the first rule of the future: Kids.

last weekend i did a little test for a character in a short film written by @runenigma - it was fun to wake up parts of the character that I haven’t been able to access for whatever reason - and thru tests, you’re allowed to connect w/ places that are very playable/emotional, it’s my fav kind of “photography” - thank you @mak.colm for your confidence, keep letting it take root, and being prepared for the strange balance of looseness and stringency in the moment of shooting. and loveliest shout out to my mama for doing the lighting work x seventeen going under

Honored to shoot at the historic Dow Elementary School. 1 of 10 unofficially segregated schools in Houston’s 6th Ward designated for Hispanic children. The building holds its history loudly and quietly at the same time, which makes creating inside it feel meaningful (and a lil humbling).
Now a Hispanic arts center serving the city, the space feels like a bridge between past and present. Getting to shoot here before major renovations was art & alchemy.
For the day big thanks to Ruth Avalos @meca_houston , @alexiskaravas@tonidesireethomas , and my mom (truly Tony-Award-level support) for my 1st shoot post injury, done while limping, but proof that w/ the right people, something special still happens…🙏🏽
