Deuce Hennessy and Chuck Chan have been close since their early teenage years and have been making music together for more than two decades.
They are part of the HomeTeam Empire collaborative.
Balancing Act is a project built around the theme of balance in every aspect: from the lyrics and beats to the construction of the tracks, the topics explored, and the overall sound and production. Through this project, Deuce Hennessy aimed to represent the stages of growth he has experienced over the past 20 years. The project carries gritty Western New York vibes and reflects his refusal to conform to norms, something he hopes Balancing Act clearly demonstrates.
Much of Deuce Hennessy’s music is introspective. He takes pride in being a thinker, and this project is meant to reward attentive listeners. It’s the kind of album that reveals more with each listen, with many hidden gems throughout the tracks. In many ways, Balancing Act stands as his grown-man magnum opus.
