5 years in the making. I first got introduced to DYSTRAKTED through our mutual homie and fellow producer PRETTY.UGLY around 5 years ago, and we’ve been building ever since. Even though I’m based in London, Ontario and he’s in Thunder Bay, the chemistry was instant. Dystrakted has become one of my go-tos, a trusted collaborator, and the official DJ for both Burial Plots & Pyramid Schemes and High Hopes & Lucid Dreams (unreleased). The first joint we did was “Eye of Saadiq” ft. Asun Eastwood & SLNC — and we knew right away it was something special. Then came “Bricks” ft. Blocklord, GCasino & Rick Hyde, which ended up getting spins on Shade 45 from legends like DJ Eclipse, DJ Trackstar, and DJ Premier. Fast forward to this past weekend — Dystrakted was in Toronto for work training and I was in town DJing for Mickey Factz. We ended up booking rooms in the same hotel, and at one point there was myself, Dystrakted, Thisishiphopp (producer), CARVO(producer/engineer), and Mickey Factz (rapper) all under one roof.
