Every now and then, a project brings together many of the things we enjoy most: material innovation, a clear mission, and the chance to shape how a story is told. For our long-time client and partner @frontmaterials , we helped develop the campaign around the launch of the Mimmik Tile. A remarkable material innovation: the first tile grown with the help of bacteria, without the use of traditional cement. A new approach that drastically reduces the carbon footprint. The launch took place during @materialdistrict 2026, one of the leading events for material innovation in architecture and design. In the monumental @werkspoorkathedraal , Front presented the tile as part of their growing collection of circular materials. From shaping the campaign narrative to supporting their presence at the event, this project reflects how we like to work with Front: across branding, storytelling and the moments where materials meet their audience. – #graphic #design #graphicdesign #branding #exhibition

Every year, while December fills up with end-of-year deadlines and holiday cards, we quietly choose a different moment to send our wishes. Instead of Christmas, we celebrate Chinese New Year. The lunar calendar marks a new beginning, guided by one of the twelve zodiac animals. Each year carries its own character, its own rhythm. From the determination of the Ox to the curiosity of the Rabbit, from the boldness of the Dragon to the strategic mind of the Snake, every animal invites a different visual language. For us, this tradition has become a small internal ritual. A moment to experiment. To translate the spirit of the new zodiac animal into shape, composition and a fresh ink combination. For @apetozebra , campaigns are where design, video- and photography, copy and communcation can truly meet. Not as separate disciplines, but as one shared effort to make something stick. To create clarity. To start a conversation. To move people, even if only a little. What we love about campaign work is that it forces intent. Every visual choice, every word, every channel has to pull in the same direction. When that alignment works, a campaign can do more than inform. It can highlight an issue that already exists and help shift how people look at it. In 2020 we worked on KIESMIJ, a campaign against internship discrimination and for equal treatment. The fact that such a campaign was needed then, and still is now, says enough. The goal was simple but urgent: move the focus away from assumptions and towards qualities, and open up dialogue between students, schools and companies. This campagin was initiated by @minocw , @sbb_nl , MBO Raad, @jobmbo , @collegevoorderechtenvandemens , Stichting School & Veiligheid, MKB Nederland, @vnoncw , @cnvonderwijs and @fnvyoungunited . Enter a world of art talks and wonder walks 🖼️ ✨ We are pleased to share our latest work for @jong_rembrandt , a community for people aged 18 to 30 who want to look with intention, deepen their knowledge and immerse themselves in the world of art. @vereniging_rembrandt plays a vital role in protecting and enriching art collections in the Netherlands. They support museums in collecting, restoring and researching art. This ensures that these works can keep inspiring us today and far into the future. Within this mission there was a clear ambition. JongRembrandt needed its own identity under the umbrella of Vereniging Rembrandt, while still feeling free enough to grow as a community. The identity also needed to reinforce an important message that Vereniging Rembrandt is here for everyone. We developed a recognizable visual language that gives JongRembrandt its own voice and energy. Every quarter, the Ape to Zebra team hits pause for FWD: Friday ⏭️ It’s a day to step away from screens, client work and routine. Whether it’s a museum visit, a workshop or a walk in nature, these Fridays give us the space to reset our perspective and refuel our curiosity. Over the past year this has taken many shapes: a letterpress session at @gwamsterdam , a slow-looking-at-art course at @nxtmuseum , wandering through the @hortusleiden in Leiden, and taking part in @designinquiry , an interdisciplinary collective of thinkers and makers. Each edition offers a different lens, but the intention stays the same. We create room to notice, to learn and to return to our work with fresh eyes. 🏙️This time, we wandered through Amsterdam Zuid on an architectural urban safari, moving through a valley of concrete and contrast shaped by bold structures, quiet in-between spaces and the textures of waste (from @frontmaterials )that tie it all together. After exploring these remarkable buildings, we ended the tour with drinks and a view at @twentysix.amsterdam , and made one final stop at @hartwigartfoundation Proxy to take in some video art. 👉Here’s a look back at some of those moments.

The @gieskesstrijbisfonds was founded in 2003 by Hennie Gieskes and Diedi Gieskes-Strijbis to support meaningful initiatives in four main areas: Nature & Environment, Medical Research, Democracy & Rule of Law, and Art & Culture. The foundation looks for projects that truly fit their DNA – with a focus on long-term impact, sharing knowledge and creating real change. Since then, they’ve supported a great number of projects. We are proud to have recently designed and launched their new website. In the process, we also introduced a subtle refresh of their existing identity: we updated the typography and added a vibrant supporting color palette that works harmoniously with their distinctive blue, enhancing visual appeal while preserving their recognizable brand essence. With this new digital home, Gieskes-Strijbis can keep sharing their mission and impact with clarity and openness – and continue to highlight the many inspiring projects they make possible.
